It’s impossible to understate Tony Vaccaro’s contribution to the 20th century, be it in his role as World War II combatant and documentarian, or his post-war work in fashion and portrait photography. He is a man who, in his own words, “went after the best”, and for the ...

Saint-Briac-sur-mer- La plage du Perron.

This is another beach close to St. Briac in Brittany (see yesterday's posting for more info), taken last Sunday from the same hill (La Pointe de la Garde Guerin), but this time looking west instead of east. This is my favorite beach in the area, nestled between St. Briac and the next coastal village, St. Lunaire. My sons had a lot of fun in those unusually big waves that afternoon.

HFF!

Just realised that I haven't posted for a year .... since I was in this same spot in Brittany last summer!

This is one of several beaches in St. Briac-sur-Mer, the pretty coastal town in Northern Brittany, close to Dinard and St. Malo and home of my mother-in-law. I have been visiting this town for 24 years and never get tired of the views. Last Sunday the windy weather brought some exceptionally large waves in from the English Channel. The tiny dots are surfers.
