Still plenty of undeveloped paddocks and saftey fence barriers for easy perches.

Taken at the Monaco Grand Prix 2017. At portier corner, Sauber driver Pascal Wehrlein, was pushed against the wall by McLaren driver Jenson Button. (nobody hurt and well done you marshalls).

Finally got a decent shot of a young moose calf. Seen a few but couldn't get a decent photo of them. This lil one was exploring a beaver pond while its mother was browsing on nearby trees. The calf was a little curious, but when I made a move, it ran back to mom's saftey.

Meine persönliche Herausforderung für 2022 - ich werd's versuchen - und mein Bestes geben…
Late in September, a bull Musk Ox tastes the air to see if the cow Musk Ox is in season. The Musk Ox mate between August and October with single calves being born between April and June. Calves will weigh between 20 and 30 pounds. By the end of the first year, the newborn calves will weigh between 150 and 230 pounds.
Musk Ox are normally very docile creatures. In the 10+ years of photographing them, I have never once been charged or had a Musk Ox be aggressive. However, late last year, a Village Saftey Officer in northwest Alaska was gored to death when he tried to haze a herd of Musk Ox away from his dog lot.
The main predators of Musk Ox are Grizzly Bears and wolves. Musk Ox in the wild live between 12 and 20 years.
There are captive Musk Ox that are raised for their under fur called qiviut. It is very insulating and it is used to make scarves and hats.

I've been suprised by ice under a thin layer of snow a number of times. These slip-on spikes are a bit of a hedge against falling and not being able to get up. For anyone interested google "slip on spikes for winter". They're sold a number of different places online.

30 seconds, f4, 800ISO.... Val, John and myself spent the evening on the dock at Rondeau Park watching the storms in the distance, a beautiful display ....
have wanted to capture something like this, but the storms were usually too close and too wet..... tonight was a good night with storms on the horizon and clear skies above.....
with John studying the radar on his I-phone and us carefully watching the horizon, we had a 2 minute warning to retreat to the saftey of the truck, unfortunately we were 4 minutes from the truck.... extreme heavy rain and 50 mile an hour winds....
Been trying to find an interesting shot for the HTTT group, this caught my eye on the beach.
An Aguila bottle, which I believe is a spanish beer?.. seemingly had made its way to be beached at Crosby.... Not sure if we have any ferries that would stock this beer or if it had traveled somehow by its self, reckon that less likley though..
I had previously spotted a tonne of cans that had been left littering the dunes, but at the same time I took the shot of the Waterloo sunset it became apparent that this area is a party zone for youngsters... reckon this would be nice to photograph if I didnt fear for the saftey of me and my gear.

Around the fireplaces at this time of year the villagers of Witherwood Thicket share the old tradions of telling ghost stories, the most popular being that of the Ice River:
The boat beit small was captained by a proud young man, during a journey home ward one Christmas time the boat was crushed by the ice and its captain leap to saftey on the broken ice.. Considered by locals as Abandoning his vessel, and the loss of two mens lives- the family of the captain were scroned... Not able to love with this shame, the young captain braved the winter storm again several days later and disapeared under the ice and snow - where part of his boat still stuck with her forward bow pointing to the skys... As christmas nears the villagers to this day say they see the young captain walking across the ice..
It is said as the years spun forward the captains bride would walk the ice every winter calling to him, untill one Christmas cold eve - she also disapeared into the mist.. It is said she also stil walks the ice looking sky ward and crying for gods help to find her husband..

A tiny 65 Tonner belonging to ArcelorMittal switches some coil cars IHB dropped off over Riley Ave in East Chicagos Marktown neighborhood. A Ford pickup with the generic "switch crew" sign on its door stands guard at the rear of the train to ensue the saftey of the train and those who attempt to cross behind the coil cars.

One of a small family group, out enjoying the warmth of the sunshine. Satisfied, I guess that they could wing away to saftey in the nearby bushes, they seemed happy enough to approach close to where I was standing
This a small part of adjacent image cropped and rotated. I liked the abstract patterns made by the saftey railing barriers.
My intention was to take as for b&w, but I liked the colour of the glass.
August 1, 1989 - Safety Harbor, Florida, USA - Kodak Tri-X negative copied with a Nikon D810 using the Nikon ES-1 slide copier. I expanded the opening in an old plastic slide mount to allow room for the borders around the image. Mild tweaking in Photoshop.
Council road was our go to place for Short-eared Owls. There was never a shortage of them and we had plenty of opportunities for photography. It was no easy task though, they were fast and always on the move hunting along the edge of Safety Sound. They also blended in with the environment and at times would be difficult to spot if they perched on top of driftwood. We had a blast photographing them and it was probably the highest point of our adventure. Thank you Jaymi Heimbuch for being my partner in crime on this adventure. I hope you enjoyed chasing the light as much as I did!

Der Sonntag brachte wieder herrliches Wetter. Beste Voraussetzungen für geilen Motorsport. Die 4 Rennen waren spannend - etwas viel FSY und Saftey Phasen.
My very first attempt at photographing a lightning bolt during the daytime. Using a 10-stop ND filter I was able to capture this strike within my 15 second exposure. If you use the rule when you see a lighning bolt and it takes 30 seconds to hear the thunder, it's about six miles away... this was about two miles out. With my Pentax K3 mounted on a three legged tiltall lightning rod, I decided to retreat back into saftey, hoping that I got lucky. Pentax DA 16-45 lens at f/8, or f/11

so sind sie, die chinesen, laechelnd und freundlich.
arbeiten sehr hart, halten die familie zusammen, finden immer irgendwie eine loesung fuer herausforderungen und koennen sehr viel ertragen. in china ist es immer bergauf gegeangen mit der wirtschaft und das rasant. wie die zukunft ausieht weiss niemand. ich vermute es wird etwas langsamer voran gehen. kein problem,da chinesen sehr flexibel sind und das finde ich sehr beeindruckend.
wir in deutschland, koennen sehr viel von der mentalitaet lernen , denn sie lernen vom ausland.
ein aufeinander zugehen in der gesamten welt kann berge versetzen und mehr verstaendnis bringen fuer alle seiten

so they are, the Chinese, smiling and friendly. work very hard, hold together the family, find a solution for every challenge and can bear very much. in China it is went always uphill with the economy and that rapidly. for the future ,nobody knows. I assume it more slowly will somewhat in front go. no problem, Chinese are very flexible and i find it very impressive . we can learn very much in Germany ,of their mentality, because they learn a lot from foreign countries. more understandingcan bring us all more together and the world will be more peaceful. one world , one dream
