Crazy Tuesday Theme: #Signs

😄 HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday 😄

A classic railroad crossing sign and warning lights at Centreville Amusement Park on Toronto’s Centre Island. This vintage-style signal adds charm to the family-friendly park, where miniature trains and rides bring a nostalgic touch to the island experience.

A structure I might have not have noticed during the day,

in the quiet bustle of hannover airport, a single traveler's silhouette stands out against the bright light streaming through glass doors, a moment of stillness amid travel's usual rush. the space is dotted with a curious collection of four emergency exit signs, an overzealous guidepost in this intersection of journeys. the scene is a blend of movement and pause, light and shadow, capturing the essence of transit and the meticulous design of public safety in travel hubs.

In November 2005, I took an AMTRAK Train from Tampa Union Station in Florida to Hamlet, North, Carolina to attend a Summer Convention of the ACL/SAL Historical Society in and around the Hamlet Area Hamlet Metro Area, One of the sites we visited was CSX Hump Classification Yard Hamlet.

Tower Mailing Address: 127 CSX Drive, Marks Creek, NC 28345"

This Yard is relies on Gravity, a Ladder of Switches and Speed Retarders to assemble trains destined for all parts of the US and Canada on an assortment of tracks, one track for each destination. or Intermediate Yard.In addition to the Posters & Signs, a no longer used caboose, now serves as a place for Safety Classes and Safety Signs.

These particular photographs show some of the Safety Alerting Signs all over the CSX Yard.

SAFETY is a BIG Concern in the Railroad Industry and Yards are particularly dangerous, not only due of all the traffic, but also particularly Coupling & Uncoupling Railcars, Trowing Switches, Checking the Bills of Lading for the contents being shipped, limited space, minimal Lines of Sight, setting & releasing Hand Brakes, etc. Lack of Attention, can be Fatal ! Consequently there are numerous Safety Signs, Classes, and Accident Tracking Billboards !

Typography I'm working on for a campaign for U.S. SafetySign & Decal.

I took these Photographs on October 17 2004 while I was on a Business Trip in Grand Rapids Michigan. I arrived on Sunday, so I was able to send my Day taking Photographs around the Grand Rapids Metropolitan Area. I took this Photograph from the end of Judd Avenue, which ended in a Cul-de-sac near the entrance to CSX Wyoming Yard.

It shows CSX Diesel Locomotive Number 2579 & Assorted Rolling Stock in Wyoming Yard.

I took this Photograph with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 Single Lens Reflex Camera with Color Print Film. The Film Processor (aka: Kodak) provided me with a Picture CD v6.0

Taken during the demolition of Rosebery Street bus garage (what health and safety?) It shows the inside looking out onto Roseberry Street and how cramped the exit was, the occupiers of those houses really knew what a Leyland PD2 looked like. With hindsight I wonder about what happened to those lovely enamel safety notices still attached to the remaining wall, clearly I hadn't got a screwdriver with me!

Roseberry Street opened as a Tramcar depot on July 1st 1907 and was converted to a bus garage October 1st 1950. It was closed because the area was being re-developed in 1967/68

The refineries on the corner of Francis & Hyde Street, have long held a fascination for me. iPhones make it easier to operate discretely as you are often treated with suspicion around these outdoor facilities.

One of several projects, that explore photography as evidence amongst other ideas.

In June 2018, my wife & I attended a Family Wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn, 275 Baker Street in Atlanta, Georgia. One end the hallway on the on the 13 Floor (they call it Floor PH) gave me a Great View of the CSX Tracks, while the other end of the hallway gave me a great view of the Skyview Ferris Wheel across the street from Centennial Olympic Park.

I took this photograph of our Hotel, the Hilton garden Inn from about a Half a Block Away from Marietta Street. The Hotel itself is on the Right with the attached Parking Garage on the Left. You can see the name of the Hotel in Red Lettering at the Top of the building. If you click on the Photograph to expand it to full size you can easily read the Name of the Hotel. Also, notice the Bank of America Tower in the Right Background between the Hotel & the Traffic Light Pole.

I work in the construction industry, so am very familiar with these building site signs. However, have never seen them quite like this before now!

Safety, not because I have to, but because I want to. Sign at the construction site at the Dell Children's Hospital at the former Robert Mueller Airport. May 30, 2007.

I laughed when I first read this sign ... like can the rhino charge through here whenever he or she chooses. Am I actually safe standing here taking this photo? But then I started imagining a rhino race ...
