New Adventure Travel assumed the City & County of Swansea local bus contracts for the services linking the Gower Peninsula and Swansea from 4th August. These were previously in the hands of First Cymru.
Four new MAN CitySmarts have been allocated to Services 116 (North Gower to Swansea) and 118 (South Gower to Swansea). These, with a short Alexander Dennis Enviro200 allocated to Service 115 (North to South Gower), are being operated from Davies' Coaches Crofty depot. This was previously Veolia's Swansea base and from which it operated the Gower services until they passed to First Cymru in May 2011.

An awesome end to end this year's Showbus and the final one to be held at Donington Park. All the NCT buses got together one by one and performed a line-up for the local enthusiasts and some a little further afield. As they won a number of awards over the past decade and more to come this year hopefully with their top bus driver award if it wins. We see both 140 year old liveries, 2 Orange lines, a Skyblue line and the newly repainted Pink line all looking very smart in their new style livery.

Following on, route 266 is unreliable because of Atlas Road (AS). There tends to be large gaps in the service usually of every 30+ minutes during the peaks, noting this is London's 24th (out of 673 recorded routes) busiest bus route, so this route means a lot to a large number of people.
On another topic, to make matters worse, Tower Transit performed a strike today at Lea Interchange (LI) depot.
Route 339 ran a full service.
Route 25 had no service between Ilford and Stratford after 1300.
Route W14 had no service at all after 0745.
All other routes had a reduced (and unreliable) service. Next week Tower Transit are to do the same on the 5th January 2015, this time including all Tower Transit routes, as well as 266.

I really love Neil Gaiman's writings, and his short story 'October in the Chair' is one of my all-time favourites... (you can find it in this collection if you're curious. Go buy it – its wonderful. :-) )
...and it inspired this picture...
The twelve months sit around a small bonfire in a clearing in the woods, telling stories and sipping cider... October is in the Chair, so its Autumn-time, leaves falling, pumpkins lit.
I drew this with the end of the story in mind, when the tales have all been told, and the months get up, stretch their legs and disappear off into the woods and the night.
October and November linger a little while:
'Your turn in the chair next time,' said October.
'I know.' said November. He was pale and thin-lipped. He helped October out of the wooden chair. 'I like your stories. Mine are always too dark.''
'I don't think so,' said October. 'It's just that your nights are longer. And you aren't as warm.'
'Put it like that,' said November, 'and I feel better. I suppose we can't help who we are.'
'That's the spirit,' said his brother. And they touched hands as they walked away from the fire's orange embers, taking their stories with them back into the dark.

Many thanks, cheers and very appreciative nods to him for sharing his strange, dark and beautiful worlds and creations with us all.)
