In my backyard I have several turtles, the Eastern Long-necked Box Turtle, and also the Three-toed box turtle, at least, maybe other varieties too.
They evidently breed here because we see all sizes.
(I did see a Red-eared Turtle the other day in the street, maybe just passing through like they do in the wet weather. I placed him in a safe area)
This particular turtle (above) is really a pretty fun guy, he isn't skittish like most all other turtles. He keeps his head out even when I had to pick him up, he seems O.K. with humans.
He keeps coming into our sun room, he slept in there last night, then later in the morning he left to go outside.
I watched him eat wild strawberries growing wild, he really liked those quite a bit.
I've left pecans, spinach, and shredded carrots out for him, he LOVES pecans, but doesn't care for greens that much.
The other day we saw him in the doorway of the sun room eating an earthworm. heheh
(I could be wrong on the species)
He's a lot of fun to watch, we already feel like he belongs.
