This is my first ever attempt using the DoF Tools. The image employs the local environment settings at Everwinter and was cropped post-production; I made no other adjustments nor applied any filters.

I spy a sharp shinned hawk, spying on a pileated woodpecker, spying on some bugs in a tree.

An Arctic fox eyes me off just outside of its den area on Kolyuchin Island in the Russian Arctic. Being the summer months, the fox has a dark coat which then changes to an all white coat during the winter. A true survivor, I watched this one fighting mosquitoes off its face while it was keeping a close eye on me.

Mack, who spent his whole life slightly overweight, is now starting to lose weight and Pippi is the sort of cat who wakes up and first thing she does is go to her food plate. It's automatic and she has gained too much weight since living with us.

Lately, Mack has been sleeping on a heated mat in a different room so I have tried hiding a plate of food for him right next to where he is sleeping. Hopefully Pippi won't discover this food source. Mack just barely woke up - as you can see one eye is still closed - but he just went back to sleep without eating.

Why is it that if you have two cats one needs to gain weight and the other needs to lose weight???

I knew the Orcas spy hopped but I didn't realize the Humpbacks did this as well. I have to tell you it was like a building was coming out of the water. I pulled my lens in to 120mm to fit it in the frame...definitely the high point of the day! Humpback whales grow to be about 52 feet (16 m) long, weighing 30-50 tons (27-45 tonnes). The females are slightly larger than males, as with all baleen whales. The four-chambered heart of the average humpback whale weighs about 430 pounds (195 kg) - about as much as three average adult human beings.

This is Charlie Brown peeking into my living room where Tofu was sleeping peaceful (which was the main reason why Charlie was locked out). :)

Here is Tofu trying to be invisible while spying on the neighbours. That was a week ago when it wasn't as cold as it is now. At the moment he goes out too but only for 2 minutes at a time which makes spy acitivities difficult. :)
