I used a very fast shutter, given the lighting conditions, as I wanted a "noisy" background; I like how it turned out.
On the way back from Cades Cove to Gatlinburg, there were plenty of pull-over places you can park your vehicle and walk down to the tranquil streams like this. Many of them are not crowded so it allowed you to setup tripod and take as many long exposure shots as you like. I remember I had to use a ND4 filter to compensate for too much light. No post processing.
Hello Flickr friends and family! Just got home this morning from a week in the Smoky’s and surrounding areas. Shows, pictures, shopping, family time, and lots and lots of driving. Sorry, didn’t miss Illinois or work at all. Anyway, good to be home. I’ll be posting more once I get a few chores out of the way.

This is one of the many beautiful places in "Roaring Fork". Capturted this one during this summer's trip to the Smoky Mountains.
Had some weather trouble (consistent rain) just about the entire week. We got this shot during a 20 minute window of opportinuty and had to rush out of the there to take cover as the rain came hard after this.
This is a single file using a CP filter.
In post processing I applied dodge & burining, added contrast with levels in CS4 and used a soft focus filter applied locally. Sharpening done with Nik Filters.
Hope you folks are having a nice weekend.
Thanks for stopping by and looking, as always I appreciate your comments and critiques.
