I really liked the results of projecting 2D images onto a 3D form to articulate its contour, so I decided to draw some vertical lines in Illustrator and project onto my body and see what would happen.

The real reason why I was scanning stuff today was because I wanted to do some scanography self-portraits but I got distracted.
I always enjoyed photographing bokeh—the beautiful blur of unfocus. As I was working with some long exposure last night, I experimented with what might happen if I fiddle the zoom when I photograph the unfocused lights from across the harbor, and it gave me this.
Experiments are fun because you never really know what might happen until you do it. Many of these “effects” can be faked in Photoshop but quite frankly it is a lot more interesting when you do it physically in a capture—not to mention how much time you save as there is no need to make them look “real” because a capture is obviously 100% real.

What better way to brand yourself than sticking your logo on your skin?

Instead adding a lot of noise of URLs and words, I thought that a logo is probably enough. And with motion it becomes fun.
Thoughts
I wonder if a white background would be better, because the body is not shown very well here. Perhaps gray light.

Why should you invest on a good tripod? Well, for situations like these where you need to give 100% trust that your camera won’t accidentally drop from the sky and fall onto people on the street.
Pictured is the Canon EOS 7D + Canon EF 70-200 f/4L USM + Canon EF 1.4x Extender mounted on Manfrotto tripod + doing aerial timelapse of 1-second intervals of people jogging + bicycling down on the Ma On Shan Promenade 27 floors below.
I am shooting JPEGs for this round so hopefully I won't spend the whole day exporting JPEGs from Lightroom again.

Playing with Pixel Motion in After Effects which created this cubist motion using a series of stills. Much thanks to Daniele Grosso's Town in Pixel Motion on Vimeo vimeo.com/10549864 for this inspiration.
How to:
1. Photograph a series of images.
2. Downsize your images to the target video size. This is not really necessary but smaller images make for faster rendering.
3. Import images as a sequence into AE.
4. Create a comp and add image sequence.
5. Time-stretch image sequence to e.g. 1000%
6. Frame-blend layer using the Pixel Motion option.
7. Render and admire the wondering algorithmic engine created by Adobe.
