Scarlett quote: You can't leave me, please. I'll never forgive you! Rhett Butler: I'm not asking you to forgive me. I'll never understand or forgive myself. And if a bullet gets me, so help me, I'll laugh at myself for being an idiot. But there's one thing I do know and that is that I love you, Scarlett. In spite of you, me and the whole silly world going to pieces around us I love you because we're alike. Bad lots, both of us. Selfish and shrewd but able to look things in the eyes and call them by their right names. Scarlett: Don't hold me like that! Rhett Butler quote: Scarlett, look at me. I love you more than I've ever loved any woman. And I've waited longer for you than I've ever waited for any woman.

This is part 2 of the Nara deer series.Mr. sapphire_rouge seems to be shrewdly planning to increase his favourites.

In Nara Park, where trees grow thickly, a second-year deer who is still wary watches me from behind a huge tree.

……It was so iconic they named the area Ironbridge there after!! Also a clever bit of marketing with the intention of selling more Cast Iron kitchenware believe it or not! Very shrewd!! A wet day the day I took this, I did share a similar shot in colour but thought B&W fitted well given the weather on this day! Alan:-)

Locust wind came blowin’ right through them swinging

doors

It knocked me off my toothpick legs and up the spiral

stairs

To a room of long locked lore – museum of fools and

lies

No room for my change of heart, no room for my second

thought

Spoken down the past, go, there is a makeshift trail

And in the room I carved your name out of my tooth and

nail

And I was so cool, it stripped my clothes and stuck ’em

in a hole

No room for my change of heart, no room for my second

thought

Got no chains, got no chains at all

Left them in motel with my wrecking ball

Got no chains, got no chains at all

Rest assured that he’ll soon be cured of that serpent

will to score

Jack be nimble, Jack be quickly, Jack drink one of

these

And trace the lines of infamy upon the palms you read

The prophets are the profiteers that throw the tethered

ball

No room for that change of heart, no room for that

second thought

Got no chains, got no chains at all

Left them in motel with my wrecking ball

Got no chains, got no chains at all

Rest assured that he’ll soon be cured of that serpent

will to scorn

Emissary of luck on you must pull the funeral cart

Down the blacktop finger into the last hurrah

Once a shrewd collector, that cart had overflowed

No room for my change of heart, no room for my second

thought

Got no chains, got no chains at all

Left them in motel with my wrecking ball

Got no chains, got no chains at all

Rest assured that he’ll soon be cured of that serpent

will to score,

And the beast was lost and it lies here slain in the

… used to have quite a reputation as a party boy. But it may have been a literary and maybe political ploy used by reporters to emphasise his adopted brother and co-emperor Marcus Aurelius’s gravitas and auctoritas.

In any case, he seemed to have waged a very successful war in the East against the Parthians, by shrewdly delegating his command and limiting the objectives to the reasonable and politicaly expedient.

Unfortunately his legions brought back a lethal infectious disease from their campaign – later known as the Antonine plague – which he apparently contracted himself and died from at the early age – for a patrician – of 38, leaving Marcus Aurelius on his own to repel the encroachments launched by the Marcomani and Quadi kingdoms in what is now Hungary (Gladiator anyone :-)

Leaving Eifel land you come to Bergische land this is the area of undulating hills between the Ruhr and Sieg rivers and also where I spend most of my time in Germany when I travel for business.

Pictured here is probably the fanciest house in the park the Mannesmannhaus aus Remscheid, Mannesmann was a file maker and a shrewd businessman and investor who turned his small business into a metal making empire that today is worth billions and the most respected metals manufacturer in Germany.

The house dates from 1795 when Johann Heinrich Mannesmann settled in Bliedinghausen, originally a half timbered affair it was rebuilt as Mannesmann’s prosperity grew into what we see today.

The family moved into a mansion befitting their stature and wealth in the later part of the 19th century and kept possession of the original homestead until it was donated to the park in the mid 21rst century.

The Maddalena Bridge is commonly identified as "Devil's Bridge". Like many other businesses that seemed impossible to contemporary, popular legend attributes its construction to the devil, who comes then cheated in various ways [1]. Legend has it the head mason working on the construction of the bridge which was very worried the delay in the same building. So he came to terms with the Devil, which allowed him to complete the work in one night in exchange for the first soul that had crossed the bridge. The head mason and accepted the bridge was finished. The head mason, desperate for the imminence of the heavy tribute to the Devil, ran from the parish priest of the village, who heard the confession, he devised a stratagem did cross the bridge to a dog, the Devil infuriated by the gesture and took shrewd He threw himself into the river without ever being reviewed. It is said also that the dog, a shepherd Maremma entirely white, sometimes you see walking on the bridge in the last evenings of October representing the devil that still seeks the soul of the foreman. Legends are told similar for other bridges as the Ponte Gobbo on the river Trebbia in the town of Bobbio or the Puente del Diablo in Martorell in Spain.

The United Nations is working towards expanding their powers yet again. If you fail, try again: write and rewrite, package and repackage, until it’s accepted. This is another step towards world governance.

This is a composite I did for His glory. All elements of this composite are mine.

We’ve had a bunch of rainy and overcast days lately and yesterday we finally got some sun. We couldn’t pass it up so we headed to Westport, Washington. We hadn’t been there before so it was fun to do some exploring. We took a stroll on the paved path in Westport Light State Park. It follows the coastline and has a couple of overlooks like the one pictured below. Also, if you are into surfing there was a nice surf spot just outside of the harbor. Way too cold for me.

By 1973 I was ready to resurrect a sleeping interest in railways. And fifty years hence I can glance across at a most astute investment - a Spotmatic 500 SLR to be later retired in the Naughties.

More shrewd than passing up a steam-laded 70F while holidaying by the seaside scrambling for 'Revolver', just released, or not bothering with anything railway in 1968 when the trainspotter's world came crashing down.

With guidance from childhood buddies a first dedicated return to steam came April 1974 with invitation to tour West Germany and time to test the Pentax. I probably had more thought toward a part-time HNC final year with technical exams bearing down, age 22.

But for now it was Black Forest, The Ruhr and Rheine!

Anyways, the picture:

A delightful scene from Bad Mergentheim, Baden Württemberg shows loco 023 037-5 shunting stock while working the Lauda shuttles. Lauda and Crailsheim were very special prompting a return a year later, via ÖBB, to expose more Kodachrome through the SP500!

1975 proved quite a challenge with a 3-day rest in Krankenhaus Crailsheim having developed an allergy shortly before leaving Austria. A little difficult in isolation with sounds of steam from a hospital bed!

Stylish inline 4 from 1912 . Manufactured in the USA .

Engine : 965 cc inlet - over - exhaust in line four .

Power : 7 HP

Designers : William Henderson .

Production : 1911-1931

The Henderson Motorcycle Company was established in 1912 and went against the prevailing single - cylinder and V - twin engine types from the start . It was a shrewd move , founders William and Tom Henderson instead produced a range of inline 4 cylinder designs that were the fastest two wheeled machines of their time .

The four cylinder engines were more typical in cars , but the Henderson was fast , light and reliable and set many long distance and speed records .

Name: Cadeu

Race: Hellspawn

Age: Uncertain icly, but around 18-19?

Class: Rogue/entertainer

Status: Indentured to a local inn as a goffer and acrobat/entertainer.

What is known: Cadeu awakened when she was ten. Like many others- she had no knowledge of her previous family, culture, religious practices, or friends. She did not fare well in the wilderness on her own and was quickly collected by scavenging slavers who sold her to a tavern. She has an affinity for acrobatics. In order to get a bit more bread in her belly she has picked up a talent in pickpocketing and lockpicking. She is genial and relatively friendly, but shrewd and opportunistic. Somewhere inside her is the gentle child she once was, but were she to find herself in the wilds again, she'd likely survive just fine.

(**If your character has been awakened for a while- feel free to reach out and discuss if we can have a past together which includes a connection, rivalry, or friendship.)
