NS H55 heads down the former EL at Arden, NY. In years past this was the EL's main freight route, hosting trains such as SF100, Advance NY100 and the high priority UPS trains. Slowly downgraded in importance by Conrail what you see is the one freight the travels the line, usually in darkness as NJT / Metro North West of Hudson service is the major player here, as MNR is leasing the line from NS. A shot I've wanted to get for many years finally presented itself in February of 2021. The Tier was always an enigma for me during Conrail's stewardship. Never in the right place at the right time, or "you should have been here yesterday!". All before the instant information of the various internet groups that we take for granted today. Sometimes you take what you can get.
EL detour train SF100, operating as CN extra train 846, is climbing out of Hamilton bound for Coteau Que with a pair of SD45-type models and a big train.

"This Centennial Knife has been manufactured to celebrate 100 years of Stainless Steel - an invention that was born in Sheffield and rapidly spread worldwide. The original Stainless Steel knives were crafted by Ernest Stuart 100 years ago for R.F. Mosley & Co. of Portland Works, Randall Street, Sheffield. They were made from an experimental block of steel provided by Harry Brearley of Brown-Firth who invented what is universally known as Stainless Steel in August 1913.
This celebration Stainless Steel kitchen knife has been crafted and produced by Stuart Mitchell in his workshop at Portland Works in 2013. It has been made using Sheffield Stainless Steel donated by Brinsworth Strip Mills/TATA specifically for this project.
This is a Limited Edition of 100 numbered knives. It has been designed and made to be used.
It will last a lifetime...."
