We were up early for a Winter Bird Count and found that the moon had not yet set. This is a few days after the full moon (Snow Moon).

WCRC 47815 slows with the Northern Belle ecs, it was late leaving Carnforth and after being looped at Euxton Balshaw Lane took an age to get through Wigan. By the time it passed me it was obviously in trouble and stopped in section under the A580 East Lancashire Road bridge I am told for nearly an hour.
As I type this it looks to be stopped around the Warrington Bank Quay area ...

An early morning stock move from Carlisle Kingmoor to Burton behind work worn DRS 37716 was potentially worth photting this morning.
I was aware it was to be six 'coffins' but was not prepared for three of them being the 'scabbiest' I have ever encountered! Not sure why this move came about but I am sure somebody out there knows?

Due to Corona and family circumstances, we were unable to join Plandampf in the Werratal. But after so many years, the blood creeps where it can't go. That is why my father, my eldest son and I decided to travel to the former East Germany during the May holidays, to enjoy narrow-gauge steam.
After visiting the Zittau Narrow Gauge Railway for two days, we continued to Dresden. The Lössnitzgrundbahn was the first to be visited there, followed by the Weißeritztalbahn. We have already been here in 2015, but that was before the line was put back into service to Kipsdorf after the devastating floods in 2002.

Why do some people, who have never worked on the Railways, think they know it all?????
Another day & another dull shot, but when I left home in Hertford Heath, there was torrential rain from a thunderstorm & no shot would have been possible.
RIP "Mr Maximum" Willy Thorne.
