So last night it didn't look like there would be any sunset. My pal Franklin had been asking for a lesson on drone photography so we headed out more to focus on flying than photography. The sky was dull and grey right until sunset when the sun peeped out for a few minutes lighting up those beautiful Altocumulus clouds. Technically this is his photo but he was under my direction so he's going to have to share - I've also got the sdcard lol
Always take a spare SD card is a lesson I learned. For Macro Mondays. The theme is: letters and numbers. HMM
The universal secure digital (SD) memory card.

My SD card reader for a black in black and white shot for Looking Close on Friday. Terrible how electronic black plastic sucks up any dust nearby.
Today, I decided to clean up my room and found some old SD cards. Was curious what it was in them, and so surprise it was from my road trip to San Francisco, 9 years ago [September 2015]. So, I thought to share a few pictures.
Photo'd via Canon PowerShot SX120 IS. It was for a test to use during my road trip, and the quality of pictures did not impress me, decided returning it.

This camera card fell apart yesterday (thankfully no images lost). I was just about to throw it away when I thought "I know what I can do with this!

It's really not much of a challenge these days to get a decent picture. Any digital camera will allow this to happen with comparative ease. Plus, there is plenty of cheap post-processing AI software available that will then transform your file into any style or 'look' with a few clicks. And voila, you easily achieve what, a decade ago, most photographers would have considered amazing.
But this is a hollow victory. The results of which are everywhere on social media. Perhaps this is the reason so many are finding the challenges of analogue photography appealing. Here, there is a craft involved, a learned skill-set that provides results through applied hard work. However, this alone doesn't remove the creative image problem. The originality conundrum. But perhaps it does better provides the chance to create that spark of creativity, of originality, that simply using algorithms does not.
But I'm not going back to analogue. I've been there for too long and I like the easy digital way of doing things. The bigger problem is to overcome the fashionable and easy image that digital allows. It's the new creative sound barrier. It's got to be worth breaking. Hasn't it?

Lucky Luke, a gunslinger known as the "man who shoots faster than his shadow".
Well this photographer is maybe a bit faster than Lucky Luke, shooting a photo of the SC-card that the photo was recorded on :-)
Happy Macro Mondays Folks!
