This morning I finally went for it and hiked the Raven Rocks portion of the Appalachian Trail. It has been years since I last hiked this trail and I was worried I might not have been in the kind of shape required to hike this trail, but it looks like the visits to the gym and walks around the neighborhood have paid off. Nature has always been a great source of peace and inspiration, so I brought my iPad in hopes of composing a little ambient track in Garageband, inspired by my surroundings. I included a little snippet here in the post, though it might still need some work. I also tried to get some sketching in, but the yellow jackets kept paying me a visit. Must’ve been the tasty treats I brought along, so I eventually had to cut my stay short and scram. I've always wanted to grab a shot of these buildings, but cameras are not allowed inside our work area. It is actually a view from the window of our pantry in west direction.
Yesterday, I manage to sneak in my camera without the security guard noticing it, pretending I was just going to the restroom. Then without wasting anytime before the guards take their rounds, I took a few shots hide my camera inside my bag and then I scram.
Lucky for me, I wasn't caught, for if I was, then that would mean a corrective action as penalty. : )
Honestly, I have no idea. This is in a front yard in Pink Hill, NC. I think it's great, but I was too shy to get out of the car and inquire, or to do more take a couple of windshield snapshots and scram.
