Buses from all over the state brought people to Sacramento to support immigrants and push for a STRONG CA Values Act (SB54). The CA Values Act limits local and state resources from fueling the painful deportation machine and ensures that schools, health facilities, courthouses, shelters, and Department of Labor Standards Enforcement facilities are accessible to all Californians regardless of immigration status.
A rally at the state capital was followed by a march to the Sheriff's Association building to protest the Sheriff's Association's efforts to water down the bill and its protections.

R175 VLA has just finished a 2V journey within the bus station, which started at that location before serving Cefn Mawr; SB54 and HX51 LPF aren't in service. R175 VLA sports a Vale Travel livery; SB54 sports sports GHA Coaches' "single-decker, low-floor" livery; HX51 LPF sports D Jones and Son's standard livery.

GHA Coaches SB54 (originally Dukes Travel) [Y201KNB] Dennis Dart SLF/Alexander ALX200 B38F. GHA Group serves a very large operating area. Coming from Altrincham, an hour and a quarter away by train, this "low floor" livery is a familiar sight to me.
One Fat Cat at least hasn't done so well: the cafe in the bus station building has closed down.

CLOSE THE CAMPS - Day 22
August 22, 2019 - Day 22 - San Mateo County Activists Protest ICE!
Great showing and energy from San Mateo County as they gathered in front of ICE SF as part of the Month of Action to CLOSE THE CAMPS.
Day 22's rally was hosted by Pacifica Social Justice, an organization formed in January 2017. Their 1st project was to push for a sanctuary ordinance for Pacifica, and succeeded in securing a strong ordinance that was passed and became law in October of that same year. Today they are fighting to keep ICE out of their county jails as mandated by SB54. Two neighboring counties reported no transfers to ICE. San Mateo County reported 51 transfers and their sheriff participated in Operation Stonegarden, a program that supports enhanced coordination and cooperation between Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Border Patrol, and local law enforcement agencies.
Joining Pacifica Social Justice were Pacifica Peace People, Faith in Action Bay Area, Peninsula Democratic Socialists of America and others.
This rally was part of the Month of Momentum: 30 Days of Action to Close the Camps (ICE SF)
