It was so warm today we were out there in our shirt sleeves. (Why yes, you can drive a tractor with one arm!)

Harvesting sap for maple syrup is an annual event in Big Hill Park. They used to use pails, now they use these blue plastic bags. You can see tree after tree with these bags hanging from them.

I think it takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. (I remembered it correctly - www.massmaple.org/how.html - is an interesting reference site.)

My friend saw this 'perfectly formed' drop os sap hanging from a branch in an evergreen in my front yard and wouldn't stop pestering me till I took it. Turned out kinda nice, a bit blurry, but nice.
