Looked very nice! Couldn't believe this was a diesel cause the exhaust sounded like a petrol.

One of my favourite helicopters, the CH-53, taking off with a belly full of paratroopers for a mass drop during the evening display. The pilot aggressively pushes the nose down (cyclic control forward) to accelerate. The aircraft in the background leaving a nice condensation trail is A380-841 D-AIMH Lufthansa on-route from Frankfurt to Beijing.

Savoia-Marchetti S.65

The Savoia-Marchetti S.65, was an Italian racing seaplane built for 1929 Schneider Trophy race.

I have always liked the older seaplanes, especially those built for speed, and the S.65 was indeed built for speed with it`s two engine configuration working in push pull. Unfortunately the Italians wasn`t very succesfull with this one; The plane was brought to Calshot England but never became ready to participate, and that way it only gave the British team something to speculate about.

In january 1930 the plane was finally ready for it`s first take-off on lake Garda. Three times the attempts to get airborne was abortet because of excessive yaw. On the fourth attempt the plane got airborne but shortly after, it stalled and chrashed into the lake. Tragically the plane quickly sunk to the bottom with the young pilot Tommaso Dal Molin still in the cockpit, and even more tragic it happened on his 28th years birthday.

About the model!

This model has been on the way for quite a long time, but finally I succeeded in finishing it! Design phase started more than two years ago, and one month later a model that doesn`t look much different from what you see today was finished. But then all sorts of more interesting things, like building my Super Sabre, pushed the little Schneider Trophy racer aside. Then at the start of 2020 I began collecting bricks for the model, and in March I ordered a batch of custom chromed bricks from Auri in Poland. Due to the pandemic curse of Covid-19, my order was put on hold until the end of April. While waiting for my order I decided to make a diorama for my model, a new challenge for myself, to put a little more life into the build. So please enjoy the Savoia Marchetti S.65 on the edge of lake Garda before everything ended so tragically.

This may have been a SLS trip and the photo is staged?

The passenger service to Penygraig stopped in 1958 so this may have been a last opportunity for a day out up the Ely valley line ? 1471 was the regular loco on this service. Llantrisant station was a long way from Llantrisant it was in Pontyclun on the mainline where the modern rebuilt station is today.

Due to the recent unauthorized publication of my images in a magazine. newspaper and two published books without payment I have to now make this statement. I keep attending online Railway Soc events where speakers brazenly show my images without any acknowledgment of the photographer or the fact they have just stolen them off my FLICKR site. Hence I have been forced to add a copyright sign in the corner.

Please contact me at pete.brabham@ntlworld.com for permission to use any of my FLICKR photographs in hard copy publication. I will usually give permission free of charge to Heritage Railways and steam loco restoration project advertising, but profit-making magazines and book authors must pay a reproduction fee. How To Turn Mercedes Benz S65 V12 AMG “designo” White Leather Interior Into GSDinOh K2 OMG Brown Fur Lookout Perch - IMRAN™

K2, my two years old German Shepherd Dog, believes that his common German heritage with my once supposedly-fancy car gives him the right to treat it like an open entertainment play cage. That’s how the Mercedes Benz S65 V12 AMG’s limited “designo” white leather and black wood under his claws turn into a GSD-in-Oh K2 OMG black, white, and brown fur-covered perch for him to look around over the sunroof. Kennedy, the older GSD, was thankfully peacefully watching the world out the rear passenger window. But even his fur still is probably also permanently fused inside the hand-built engine’s titanium rods. 😂😂

German Shepherd Dog Brothers Guard The Mercedes-Benz Brotherhood Neighborhood Under Full Moon - IMRAN™

I was just returning home from walking my German Shepherd Dogs when Kennedy and K2 both stopped to survey the scene.

I had to take 3 quick iPhone 11 Pro Max night-mode long-exposures to merge them into this one photo. K2 moved slightly so you can see him blurry to the left, but Kennedy was out of the frame in the merged photos.

It just seemed funny to see two German Shepherd brothers seeming to guard The Mercedes-Benz Brotherhood Neighborhood Under A Full Moon On Tampa Bay, because my S65 AMG, and my neighbors' G550, and GTR in the photo made it seem like that. A lovely blue Corvette is visible behind the GTR. Sorry, Ferrari and BMW owner friends on the backside of where I took these photos.

PS This is just a good-natured humorous image of serendipity, nothing about pretentiousness. My car is old and even a new sports motorcycle probably costs more than it. LOL.

Beautiful color on this S65 Coupe. What do you think is the most beautiful car on the market today?
