Im warmen Morgenlicht des 26.07.2021 legt der 4020 308 als S40 21017 nach Wien FJB im Haltepunkt Atzenbrugg einen Halt ein, ehe es für den Triebwagen weiter richtung Tullnerfeld geht.
Um ein vernünftiges Bild eines kultigen ÖBB 4020gers zu erwischen ist eigentlich immer Glück vonnöten. Entweder verziert ein großflächiges Graffiti den Triebwagen oder er verkehrt falsch herum, also mit dem Steuerwagen voraus. An einem schönen Frühlingsvormittag wurde bei Zeiselmauer auf die Triebwagenklassiker gewartet und es sollte sich lohnen. Noch vor dem 309 tauchte der im Schrägdesign gehaltene 4020 312 als S40 21023 (St. Pölten Hbf - Wien Heiligenstadt) auf. Das Bild zeigt ihn ebenfalls beim verlassen der Haltestelle Zeiselmauer-Königstetten.
Zugegebenermaßen gibt es nicht viele Möglichkeiten die Kirche auch vernünftig in ein Eisenbahnbild einzubauen. Zwischen dem Bahnhof und der Eisenbahnkreuzung mit der Eduard-Klingerstraße findet sich aber eine Lücke im Gebüsch, wo das Bauwerk hervorlugt. Allerdings ist die Bebauung dort mittlerweile so dicht, dass man dort gerade so einen einzelnen Triebwagen unterbringen kann. Am Aufnahmetag musste der 4020 313 als S40 21057 (Tulln Stadt - Wien FJBf) als Motivfüller herhalten.

I think this is the pre-facelift model, which makes it 1995-2000? I don't think there's a way of checking anything on Jersey-registered cars.
It was the Jersey plates that drew my attention to it, and I probably wouldn't have taken photos otherwise. I suppose these are becoming rare now though?

Equipped with a fairly smoke free Gardner 180 and a man's clutch, this tough old bruiser needs a strong hand (and foot)!

Gardner 180 powered and (IIRC) last taxed in 1999, the S40 is an all too rare beast these days.
