Auf dem Gebiet des ehemaligen Rangierbahnhofs in Berlin-Schöneberg ist eine einzigartige Naturlandschaft mit markanten Relikten der Dampflok-Ära entstanden. Nach der Stilllegung des Bahnhofs entwickelte sich auf einer Fläche von 18 Hektar ein "Urwald". Durch den Einsatz vieler interessierter BürgerInnen und durch finanzielle Unterstützung der Allianz Umweltstiftung konnte dieser verwunschene Ort für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht werden. Der Natur-Park war als "Weltweites Projekt" der EXPO 2000 anerkannt.

Wild nature over forgotten technology with works of fine arts: In the area of the former marshalling yard in Berlin-Schöneberg, a unique natural landscape with striking relics of the steam locomotive era has arisen. After the station was closed down, a "jungle" developed on an area of 18 hectares. Through the efforts of many interested citizens and financial support from the Allianz Environmental Foundation, this enchanted place could be made accessible to the public. The Nature Park was recognized as a "worldwide project" by EXPO 2000.

L’abbazia di San Galgano è un'abbazia cistercense, sita ad una trentina di chilometri da Siena, nel comune di Chiusdino.
Il sito è costituito dall'eremo (detto "Rotonda di Montesiepi") e dalla grande abbazia, ora completamente in rovina e ridotta alle sole mura, meta di flusso turistico. La mancanza del tetto - che evidenzia l'articolazione della struttura architettonica - accomuna in questo l'abbazia a quelle di Melrose e di Kelso in Scozia, di Tintern in Galles, di Cashel in Irlanda, di Eldena in Germania, di Beauport a Paimpol (Bretagna) e del Convento do Carmo a Lisbona.
Di san Galgano, titolare del luogo che si festeggia il 3 dicembre, si sa che morì nel 1181 e che, convertitosi dopo una giovinezza disordinata, si ritirò a vita eremitica per darsi alla penitenza, con la stessa intensità con cui si era prima dato alla dissolutezza.
Il momento culminante della conversione, avvenne nel giorno di Natale del 1180, quando Galgano, giunto sul colle di Montesiepi, infisse nel terreno la sua spada, allo scopo di trasformare l'arma in una croce; in effetti nella Rotonda c'è un masso dalle cui fessure spuntano un'elsa e un segmento di una spada corrosa dagli anni e dalla ruggine, ora protetto da una teca di plexiglas. L'evidente eco del mito arturiano non ha mancato di sollevare curiosità e, ovviamente, qualche ipotesi ardita su possibili relazioni fra la mitologia della Tavola Rotonda e la storia del santo chiusdinese.

The abbey of San Galgano is a Cistercian abbey, located about thirty kilometers from Siena, in the municipality of Chiusdino.
The site consists of the hermitage (called "Rotonda di Montesiepi") and the large abbey, now completely in ruins and reduced to just walls, a destination for tourists. The lack of the roof - which highlights the articulation of the architectural structure - in this abbey joins those of Melrose and Kelso in Scotland, Tintern in Wales, Cashel in Ireland, Eldena in Germany, Beauport in Paimpol ( Brittany) and the Convento do Carmo in Lisbon.
Of San Galgano, owner of the place that is celebrated on December 3, it is known that he died in 1181 and that, converted after a disordered youth, he retired to a hermit's life to give himself to penance, with the same intensity with which he had first given himself to debauchery.
The culminating moment of the conversion took place on Christmas day 1180, when Galgano, having reached the hill of Montesiepi, stuck his sword in the ground, in order to turn the weapon into a cross; in fact in the Rotunda there is a boulder from whose fissures sprout a hilt and a segment of a sword corroded by years and rust, now protected by a plexiglass case. The evident echo of the Arthurian myth has not failed to raise curiosity and, obviously, some bold hypotheses on possible relations between the mythology of the Round Table and the history of the Chiusdinese saint.
