After all those Cheetos, she was pretty thirsty. I think she especially wanted the Sunny D ("the orange one"), because of the sport top. She's a sucker for the sport top.
These shoes were alot darker than in the movie. For the technicolor movie, the shoes were changed to ruby red to show up more vividly against the yellow brick road.
Standing in line outside of the buffet. I knit while we waited.
I miss cooking Thanksgiving dinner. it's my very favorite. But, it would just be so hard to try to do that in our little space now. Still, we had a really good Thanksgiving dinner.
The drone show that they have before the fireworks in recent years. This was the 40th anniversary of Silver Bells so the tree and some of the drone formations referenced the "ruby" anniversary.
Tarina Taratino whom is known for her jewelry, including an LA store on Melrose and a store in Milan was being promoted by Warner Creative in conjunction with the Ruby Slipper exhibit. The LA Times on October 11, 2009, recognized her as one of the leading LA designers.

Hydrangea quercifolia 'Ruby Slippers' (Oak Leaf Hydrangea) is a product of a breeding program started in 1996 at the U.S. National Arboretum in McMinnville, TN (A cross and Intercross of H. quercifolia 'Snow Queen' and 'Pee Wee'). After evaluations, it was introduced in 2010. A dwarf at 3 1/2- to 4-ft. tall, its 9” upright, cone-shaped panicles open white, then turn pale pink and mature to deep rose. Dark green oak-like leaves turn mahogany-red in fall. Grows well in partial shade to full sun. USDA Zones 5-8.
