As soon as the sun is really there, the first athletes came. The rowers were coached from a motorboat. When the athletes drove off, the engine of the escort boat gave out. Luckily there was a second boat.

The terraces along the canal host cafés and restaurants where visitors can enjoy local specialties such as waterzooi, a creamy fish or chicken stew originating from Ghent to indulge in Belgian beers brewed with centuries-old traditions. The Plaza de España ("Spain Square", in English) is a plaza located in the Parque de María Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), in Seville, Spain built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. I was on a walking bridge across the Milwaukee river and this man was rowing underneath it. It was the perfect spot to get these birdseye style photos.

An early morning shot at Lake Karapiro a few months ago. I was very lucky that three rowers decided the fog was no big deal for their early exercise!
