Looking across the capped tops of the bars of an aluminium fence at the Thebarton Oval, with the green grass in the background.

In Australia, we call our sports stadium an "oval" because that is its shape.

Sunset shot on Watermelon Pond

Vibrant colours and lively metalwork at the historic old Smithfield Market in London--this was an unexpected find on a Sunday stroll. The market is closed on the weekends but opens for business during the week at--wait for it!--2:00 a.m. This means the workers hit the pub for lunch and a pint around 7:00 a.m. Apparently, the pubs in the area have a special license to sell alcohol that early because of the hours the market workers keep. What a scene it must be some mornings! For more on the history of the market: www.smithfieldmarket.com/

Here I'm dancing on the ground

Am I right side up or upside down?

Is this real or am I dreaming?"

My Favorite shot of the moon to date. A huge crop despite being taken at 400mm. Lots of negative exposure compensation as the camera will definitely over-expose the moon, resulting in very little detail.

Constructed in 1894, the courthouse retains much of its original architectural detail includ- ing stained-glass skylights, decorative tilework, and even light fixtures, furniture, and telephone

booth (a la Superman). To commemorate the building’s centennial, the Auglaize

County Historical Society restored the Statue of Justice, which

formerly stood on top of the tower, but now graces the building’s lobby. You are

more than welcome to visit the courthouse during busi- ness houses—8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through

Friday--but please remember that this is a working building. Court may be in session

Thanks for visit, comments and awards

The other day, I went on a hunt for another tree to try the Pep Ventosa "in the round" technique again. I went to a nearby park that I knew had a lot of trees. Many of them were quite close to each other, but I found this small one. I walked around the tree, shooting as I went, and ended up with 16 images that are all here, layered in Photoshop, to create this one image. I used my Lensbaby Velvet for this one. I have one more from that day that I may post another time :)

It wasn't the best time to photograph the moon since it was almost as far away as it can get from the Earth when full this year. Never heard the term before but I discovered it is called a Micro Moon. Looking forward to the November Super Moon.
