Probably one of the top ten local flowers that signify spring. These gorgeous sunflowers spread on the local hills and cheer us up.

This is a photo taken on an early misty morning of the driftwood root from Pembroke Beach that I brought home and placed on my dilapidated deck table. I composed the background forest to suggest a metaphorical duality of light and dark. Displayed as it is, the pareidolia driftwood root suggests a prehistoric predatory lizard life form, much like the base brain in we humans.

I really think when it comes down to it, this is the real root of all evil...

Yes I did it again. Climbed to the top of Mt Coot-Tha at 6am! With camera this time. There was a lot of water and we had to wade through some fast flowing creeks after all that rain yesterday.

This is The Underworld Expansion to the game of Root.

 

The Corvid Conspiracy are attacking a lone mole from the Underground Duchy who is running to get back to the Burrow.

This root in the middle of the trail has been polished from constant foot traffic on the Wildwood Trail in Forest Park.

 

Forest Park is the largest forested city park in the lower 48 states and the Wildwood Trail is a little over 30 miles in length.

Hylemya alcathoe

This is a female fly that deposits her larvae in dung. This was taken at Finnerty gardens at the University of Victoria.

This is water ice with custard. It's a great dessert, especially in the summertime!

Te Efteling is an amusement park on the theme of Fairy tales. There is a sparecely illuminated grotto in which 3D-movies are shown.

It is very low light, so I adapted the files somewhat.
