Summer starts a turn to fall with yellowing of leaves and less water. Thanks for looking and may your week be smooth.
The morning marine layer slowly lifts, revealing a scene abundant in bird and marine life as the Pigeon Point Lighthouse quietly surveys the action. It's been years since this old lighthouse has leant it's beams to guide the sailors home. But it's none-the-less for it's inactivity.

The building behind is a restaurant called "the rock". During high and normal tide it is only reachable by boat. That's why rockky is there.

We saw a couple different Bobcat in Rocky Mountain National Park this winter. We were never able to get really close but still a special encounter. Caught this one as the sun was setting.
The Canadian Rockies mountain range spans the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. With jagged, ice-capped peaks, including towering Mt. Robson, it's a region of alpine lakes, diverse wildlife and outdoor recreation sites. Yoho National Park is home to the massive Takakkaw Falls. Other national parks are Jasper, with the famously accessible Athabasca Glacier, and Banff, site of glacier-fed Lake Louise.

It was almost 200km From Banff to Lake Abraham, nice driving from Ice-fields Driveway (Highway 93), turning from Saskatchewan River Crossing to Highway 11. Incredible mountains views along Highway 11. Here was the one with clouds hanging over the mountains top, had several stops along the road driving.

The Sawatch Range or Saguache Range is a high and extensive mountain range in central Colorado which includes eight of the twenty highest peaks in the Rocky Mountains, including Mount Elbert, at 14,440 feet elevation, the highest peak in the Rockies. Wikipedia
Pakana Monks is a geological formation nearby Salar de Tara, in the Atacama desert, actually a mass of volcanic rock.

Stunted Autumn trees reach out to the sky along a rocky outcrop. A late afternoon sun tries to shine through wispy clouds, casting an eerie light on the cliff's edge.
The Salar de Tara approach is through a high plateau, the altiplano, before reaching a depression lined with rocks: a mineral universe, arid, but attractive for those who love wild landscapes. Only after crossing it we can approach the lagoon.

A Rocky Mountain Pika (Ochotona princeps) or sometimes referred to as "Rock Rabbit" pauses in its task of building food supplies for the winter months to peruse the landscape of the lower slopes of Mt. Edith Cavell for any danger. Mt. Edith Cavell is located in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada.
