I am not an antique collector but it always fascinates me where things came from. The table came from Winnepeg Manitoba and the rocker from the St Lawrence valley in Quebec. Both reminded me of Flickr folk from those parts, and so I took this photo.
Nikkolai tries out a new look, for her- edgy, rocker chick. She's having fun playing a bad girl... but it's really not her thing.

Four piece North East of England rockers Lyxx were crowned winners of the Manchester Hard Rock Rising Competition in 2012 and so their place here is well deserved. 'Over You' shows this band have the talent to take them far, but for me, it’s 'Thrust' that was the winner in their set. Vocalist/guitarist Steph Flesh throws out the some solid guitar riffs before lead guitarist Izzy Dead pulls out a mean solo. 'You’ll Get What’s Coming To You' (available on a free download) is where the pace really picks up, though, with the band settling into the groove as the Emma Venom makes the best of the in-house kit. The bands cover is the perennial Twisted Sister favourite, 'We're Not Gonna Take It' and it’s a faithful rendition which has the crowd happily singing and shouting along before Dead playing the guitar solo without a tremolo (full marks for skill). The bands final number, 'Wanna Be Me' - has a good groove to it and I’d be quite happy to travel down to Newcastle to see them play a longer show.
This boy wanted nothing to do with his portrait session. With some patience, and trying everything under the sun...we finally got him to sit by giving him some drums and a wooden spoon (couldn't find the drum sticks). I got some shots of him druming, and mixed in some tight shots, composing without the spoon showing, for their Christmas cards benefit. lol

Split-Rocker is a disjointed combination of two children’s rocking toys in the shapes of a horse and a dinosaur. The work is a very personal one for Koons, since the toy pony had belonged to his son Ludwig. The sculpture’s fractured nature contrasts with the bilateral symmetry of the Easyfun mirrors and can be interpreted in relation to the split Koons experienced from his child, and to his own tense psychological state at the time of its production. Additionally, the form evokes the constructions of Pablo Picasso, one of Koons’s artistic heroes. In 2000, Koons replicated Split-Rocker at enormous scale as a topiary sculpture reminiscent of his well-known floral Puppy from 1992." - Whitney Museum of American Art
