I am wearing pantyhose to get these tight leggings on.
Finished a painting project recently, so I decided to make it my quick POTD. I couldn't decide what color to paint my rockers, so I choose several.
Actually, I will most likely continue finishing touches when I get back home.
my attempt at being a rocker as you can see it doesn't quite work I am far too soft.
I have had that coat a good few years now and its seen a fair bit of Helens life so I am very attached to it.
Funny how items can bring back memories of good times and as such, parting with those items can be difficult. the problem is I have a wardrobe full of said items.

Sorry, these aren't The Rockers (or Midnight Rockers) of WWF fame but if you happen to be visiting Puerto Vallarta and see these guys just give them a tip and they'll create an art piece for you as well!
Niccy and I have been to Puerto Vallarta before so we knew the lay of the land fairly well. We caught a city bus down to The Malecón a 12-block, mile-long esplanade in Puerto Vallarta's Centro and Zona Romántica. It's the place where all the tourists go to see the "Real" Puerto Vallarta. There's a restaurant down there that we like that is off a side street so there's no real tourists but a great view of the ocean.
As we were walking to the restaurant Niccy decided to stop and look at some of the tourist traps along the way. I had no interest in this so I wandered down to the waterfront and came across these two.
As I was sitting there the guy in the striped shirt came up and asked if I spoke Spanish. I told him a little so he told me how he and his friend like to create "art" for the tourists and they gladly accepted tips for their effort. I asked him how much "tip" was appropriate and he said anything would be appreciated. I had some peso coins in my pocket that I didn't feel like lugging around so I gave them to him. He ran over to his friend and they started in on creating this "art piece" as a token of their appreciation.
I probably gave him about $1 US so I considered that to be payment for snapping off a couple of quick shots while they worked.

As you can see, Sarah has a little bit of ink done on her wrist (I think she has a couple others as well) and with her hair style we got a few shots that had a kind of 'rocker' vibe to them. This was shot in colour (it's the same red dress from this shot - www.flickr.com/photos/samuelrussell/14844153952/) but I felt like a contrasty black and white conversion would probably work better and I think it shows off the tattoo a bit better as well. Since I was shooting at f/2.8 on my 85mm lens, the tattoo isn't as in focus as I'd like, but maybe I'll get it right next time (Sarah is already excited for another shoot so expect more in the future).
Strobist:
2xYN560 speedlights. One in a 36" umbrella, high camera left and a 28" westcott apollo softbox below that in a semi-clamshell setup. Bottom light was a couple stops lower in terms of power. Also, a silver reflector was added, camera right to add a little fill to Sarah and the white background. Fired by Cactus v5s
