Roxy Music attained popular and critical success in the UK and Europe during the 1970s and early 1980s, beginning with their debut album, Roxy Music (1972).[1] The band was highly influential, as leading proponents of the more experimental, musically sophisticated element of Glam, as well as a significant influence on early, English punk music. They also provided a model for many New Wave acts and the experimental electronic groups of the early 1980s. The group is distinguished by their visual and musical sophistication and their preoccupation with style and glamour.[2] Ferry and co-founding member Eno have also had influential solo careers, the latter becoming one of the most significant record producers and collaborators of the late 20th century, with credits including albums by David Bowie, Devo, Talking Heads, U2 and Coldplay. Rolling Stone magazine ranked Roxy Music #98 on its "The Immortals - 100 The Greatest Artists of All Time" list.[3]

HDR (5 tier) render of Our Savior Church, Christianshavn, Copenhagen - This church, build by Architect Lauritz de Thurah in the 17'th hundred. 3 kings tried, but it took 4 kings to Complete the church that was opened by king FR V on august 28. 1752.
The tower is special, in that you (the public) can get acces to the tower and walk all the way to the top on the outside staircase (if it's not to windy)
You get the most fantastic view from the top of the tower, so it's definitely worth the pain of walking almost 300 feet up a very narrow and steep staircase.
Over the next days I will post some of the captures I got on todays photosafari "up up and away". One of the being the previous shot of Øresundsbridge.
The danish national bard, rocksinger songwriter Kim Larsen wrote a song about it:
Look at your town from the top of a tower
Go to Savior church
And wind your way up
Feel the wind in your hair
Maybe it comes all the way from Klampenborg
You see a woman sitting on a rock
She has tail, and what a tail.
Then to Stroget in the middle of the town
There you see Streetmusicians what a sight
The other day I took a walk at Nørrebro
Wondering, is that really still there
But the boys from Blaagaards Plads
those boys you know
They're made of rock, not shiny shiny glass
I came to the lake with dark shiny water
I watched a duck step a shore
With a brood of seven ducklings
Even a policeman counted them as they crossed the street
After that is Vesterbro and Central station
Lots of sassy chicks with long blond hair
Tivoli, Baloongswing and Colombine
And the SAS hotel - a what a laugh
Absalon, Seagulls shitting on his hat
Goes to Laurits all night
Oh yes life hides many lies
But after all, we're all alike once naked.
Original danish lyrics
Se din by fra tårnets top
ta' f.eks. ud til Frelserkirken
og så snegl dig op
mærk vinden suse i dit hår

Given an opportunity in the final listing at the legendary 1969 Woodstock festival, Carlos Santana and his band went for it in legendary style. I saw the film (Warner Brothers) of the event a few months later on its release in a big cinema in central London and, like millions of others, was staggered by the virtuosity, flare and energy from the, then, in the UK, unknowns.
Forty years later, Carlos Santana is still performing, barely ever pausing since he emerged as a true guitar master.
Awesome player and musician - his heart and soul are in the tone. Only a special few can do that.

An evening with Mark Knopfler and band on 12MAY13 in Belgium (Deurne - Sportpaleis)
Mark Knopfler belongs to the summary list of greatest guitarists of all time. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ivor Novello Awards, the main songwriter awards in the UK.
Right - "Night Birds" by Shakatak. UK: 1982.
British Jazzfunk. Some might think it a bit cheesy, but it is technically very well-played and sung, positive music.
Love the keyboard improvs, and the clean Yamaha SG-2000 sound.

Carlos Santana played the SG-2000 for a few years, and it must be regarded now as a legendary guitar of classic status. Very heavy, though. I had an SG-1000, but can't play anything even yet.
Keyboards, including the in vogue Oberheim/Prophet/ARP synthesisers, - Bill Sharpe & Nigel Wright

circa 1969. I heard this English group in concert on BBC Radio 1 and liked the heavy Hammond organ sound - and....31-person string section - no, really.... on some tracks. Weird, but interesting find in the days of progressive rock.
Great, unforgettable cover design by the renowned HIPGNOSIS.
Music recorded at Abbey Road Studios.
Jens Marni became famous in Denmark when he participated in the Danish Eurovision in 2010. He didn't make it to the final, he became number 5 of 10 with the rock song Gloria.
Project SALT was founded in order to raise money to restore the old salt silo on Drelnes in Trongisvágur in Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. As the name says, the silo used to be used for salt storage, but it is a great building and now a ruin, and the plan is to restore it into a cultural centre for conserts and for art exhibitions. On 15 May 2010 there was an aid consert, where several well known Faroese musicians, singers and bands were performing for free. The population of Suðuroy is around 5000 people, the night of the consert more than 1200 people, many people came from the other islands. Some of the names are also known abroad, Eivør and Teitur are both famous in other counties than here in the Faroes. It was raining a part of the evening, unfurtunately, and because the roof was not perfect, the rain was pouring down inside the silo in some places. Eivør almost cancelled her performance because of the rain, but luckily for us who were there, she didn't cancel. The participants of the consert were: Tóra Vestergaard (Ave Maria), Cantabile (Choir), Havnar Hornorkestur (Brass band of Tórshavn), Uni Arge, Oniontree, Martin Joensen – guest Lív Næs, Hallur Joensen, Crawling blue – guest Sámal Ravnsfjall, Deiggj, Brandur Enni – guest Tróndur Enni, Tinganest, Harkaliðið, Jens Marni Hansen, Eivør and Mpiri (choir), Teitur and Mpiri, Frændur – guest Terji Rasmussen.
