One from the archives as I haven't had a chance yet this year to get out to see any Robins. Seen in the Werribee River Park at Werribee South.
Robbie was singing his heart out when courting Ruby.

Robbie is up to something! He/she always is! All of the squirrels that visit my yard are named Robbie. They are such little daredevils just like Evel Knievel and his son Robert. Robbie kinda sorta works for both boys and girls so, there you have it. Squirrels in my yard are named Robbie.
Have a wonderful day and happy snapping.
This is Robbie Whitetail, who is my resident Robin. He's obviously found himself a mate as there are two of them in the garden. I'm guessing they haven't managed to lay any eggs as yet as they are both still flitting in and out. HWW hope you are all safe and well ;0)
Yesterday, Robbie allowed me to get as close I wanted to with my camera. I only had my Nikon series - E 1:4 70-210 mm lens with me. To allow me to get closer I switched to its macro mode and got to about 2 feet away, the closest the lens allowed me to. It was an interesting shoot. In the bush with them, no proper angle, as it comes.
Robbie always got me when I’m least expecting. In fact, I went there to spend brief moment with Robbie and Ruby as I was quite tired after a few days of long photographic sessions. But then Robbie kept persuading me to stay and ended up spending about half an hour with the pair of them.

Robbie - the Robin Redbreast that spends about 700 hours a day fluttering around my old cars rear mirrors. He’s taking a rest in the carport next to the car in this photo. Not sure if he thinks he’s incredibly attractive or if he thinks the reflection is another male threatening his territory. So I’m not sure if it would be mean or kind if I press the button that folds the mirrors in.
This young little rascal is friendly and unafraid. She will come to me and beg for treats if there are none within her reach. I try to remember to carry peanuts in my pocket for just such an occasion.
I can no longer tell the original Robbie from the rest of the squirrels. He seems to have calmed down and is acting like a normal squirrel. His antics no longer set him apart.
Robbie is a name that I believe is fitting for a boy or a girl (Robert / Roberta) therefore, all squirrels that visit my yard will be called Robbie from this point on.
Have a wonderful day and happy snapping.

Thank you for visiting, and for your kind comments and favorites. They are greatly appreciated!
We seem to have a few robins feeding in the garden, I think two pairs, (They both come and leave from different directions) this one looks very dapper standing on the garden pot. HWW
...you'd never guess where this huge bull mastiff-Alsation cross lives...it's Cat Chums cat rescue! Kind cat carer Trish also has a soft spot for dogs and I had lots of fun rolling around with Robbie and crew...more canine action to come over the next few weeks :)
The UK's favourite bird - with its bright red breast it is familiar throughout the year and especially at Christmas! Males and females look identical, and the very young birds have no red breast and are spotted with golden brown.
Robins sing nearly all year round and despite their cute appearance, they are aggressively territorial and are quick to drive away intruders. They will sing at night next to street lights.
Thank you for looking at my photographs and for any comments it is much appreciated

As per the description in some of my previous posts, Robbie Jnr would appear to be the last remaining fledgling from a trio of newborns. I fed his parents, if indeed he is a male, throughout the whole process and they were constantly at my kitchen window looking for the tiny pieces of cheddar cheese I left for them. It was exactly 1 year ago that I met and began to feed this little birds father, also a mere fledgling at the time. It has been a privilege to watch a little bird grow from fledgling to adult and then to produce offspring. I really hope that this bird survives.
Robbie is enjoying treats from the new feeding station. The palm stump is looking worse and worse daily and will be removed soon. I don't think Robbie really cares where his treats are located just as long as they are available.
Have a wonderful day and happy snapping.

Robbie meet Max. Max, meet Robbie.
While this cat is probably not named Max, that's what Robbie calls him. We were outside playing in the lane way when Max showed up and proceeded to follow Robbie around for the better part of 45 minutes. Max appears to be a stray who frequents our yard from time to time. Robbie says he loves Max. He says he wants to take Max on a vacation and also to the museum.
I've said it before that the lane way beside our house has mystical powers to produce special moments worthy of a photograph. This is another one of those.

Born near Montego Bay in Jamaica, Robbie is a wood sculptor, now living in England. He had just bought the jacket he was wearing, a small wooden sculpture and a second-hand chisel blade.
Robbie buys second-hand wood sculptures and then resculpts them. He was going to turn a small dolphin sculpture into a portrait. He showed me how the fin would make an interesting nose.
Well, Christmas is coming so how about the traditional British Christmas bird the Robin. Caught this one who was really brave and came quite close at the Natural Burial Site near East Meon, Hampshire.

Last Night 18.01.2025 “The Robbie Experience” winners of last years 2024 SAT 1 Tribute Band Show and his band attended for the very first time FABRIK COLESFELD to a full house. I would like to thank the Band, all technicians and Mr Dirk Schofield (KS Concerts) for providing me with my photo accreditation
I do a lot of work on pilots, most never see the light of day. Here is one, Mtv's Robbie and Biggie cartoon. They rejected this design because they thought it was racist, which was definitely not what I was trying to do. I just wanted something simple and iconic almost child-like... and I thought it would be cool to color him blue.
