This is taken outside University College Hospital, London. The concept of medical students being reminded how to cross a road bodes well for when they have your life in their hands in a few years time 😂.
Thanks for visiting.
Take care out there.....Remember to look both ways....😁.

shot in alcudia, a beautiful historic village in the north of mallorca. a solitary yellow bollard stands on a crosswalk, sharply contrasting with the grey pavement. shadows and light create a geometric pattern, emphasizing the bollard's presence. the background blurs into soft focus, giving the scene a sense of urban stillness.

Greater Manchester Police joined forces with Manchester United Foundation to teach young fans about road prior to United’s recent match against Tottenham Hotspur.
The event gave young people the chance to complete a road safety based obstacle course and practice their football skills.
Chief Inspector Alec McMurchy of the Force’s Trafford Division was joined by Manchester United legend Dennis Irwin and the club’s mascot, Fred the Red.
Kumho Tyres sponsored the event.

Soapbox riders in Perú, on the road from Huánuco to Tingo Maria, where the highway from the Pacific coast across the Andes finds its way towards the Amazon lowlands. This is near the top of the last mountain pass. From there, soapbox riders can enjoy a vertical 1000 meters of gravity assisted ride.
Since these kids help stranded truck drivers along the road, they're called bomberos (firemen). They transport drinks, food and spare parts to broken trucks.
Thanks to ZU from Perú for additional info:
"I usually use that highway go to work. I saw a lot of those cases of children with their skateboard or a board with wheels (artesanal) (those wheels are metallic and they tolerate the speed) they have had many fatal accidents and some times they do it for work like "fireman", I work for this highway 4 years, most of them are poor children that don't have money neither for the bus ticket, to move from a place to another in long distances and some for "enjoy"."

Abellio London 2545, a London Alexander Dennis Enviro 400H MMC ( YY16 YKJ ) on route 344 to Clapham Junction at the BUS STOP.
What was interesting about this photo was how deserted the street was, rare for London.
Pictures from a popular safe driving initiative held on the campus. Students had the opportunity to take the wheel of a Mini simulator, underlining the hazards caused by under-inflated tyres.

Blocks of colour can be exciting, even in ordinary scenes. This was a discovery that William Eggleston made many years ago as he pioneered artistic colour photography. But the colour Eggleston identified was found in scenes of everyday experience.
I'm so excited to have ordered a copy of Eggleston's latest collection of retrospective images, Mystery of the Ordinary. This book comes out in Australia on October 3rd and covers his rarely seen early black and white photographs as well as some of his most spectacular coloured ones. In his long career, 84 year old William Eggleston has made colour his very own specialty.

When I do get my copy I hope to review it for you here on my Flickr page.

I have to admit to ignorance of the fact that a separate Highway Code was issued for Northern Ireland as in this 1955 edition. There are some minor differences such as in the subsitution of local place names on direction signs and the various Road Acts and Regulations are versions promulgated as being specific to Northern Ireland. I do like the line about "you must not loiter on pedestrian crossings'.
These pages show signs that 'warn' and 'inform' and are of the pre-Worboys designs that had been revised in 1944. This shows the original 'schools' sign using the torch of knowledge or learning that was replaced after 1955 by the school-children symbols.
The direction signs use local destinations to explain and so the A29 to Coleraine, the A37 to Limavady and the B186 to Dungiven appear.
I extracted from the page 11 of Road Safety booklet (for all the BC drivers) only by memory and may be I got it wrong. :o)
When you see the pedestrians or geese need to cross the road, you should stop the car.
The scene I saw yesterday can be illustration for the section. :o)

NOT. The rear suspension fell off this one! I was amazed and alarmed that this could happen. Is the MOT test stringent enough? The recovery added chaos to the already grid locked streets, that being caused by construction work for the much delayed and very over budget Tram system
