A rather unusual photo for me. I'm usually never that close when I take photos of people. But here the people didn't even care about me and the camera, they were focused on lighting the incense sticks.

What would rituals be without flowers. I always have fresh flowers at home, each day they form part of my morning ritual of remembrance for those who have passed,those who are present and may come in the future. Their beauty serve as reminder to me of our own life cycle.

Exciting to watch as these two male woodpeckers bobbed to and away from one another for more than 30 minutes. A female perched nearby seemed not to watch.
Hope to see Flicker juveniles later in June and July.
i am so not a morning person and don't function well until i've had my 1st cup of jasmine tea... it helps clear all those cobwebs from my head. how about you... do you have any morning rituals that work for you?

Another double post. I watched these two Grackles go through a mating ritual/dance the other day. Quite amusing to watch. I love how she bows her head in acknowledgement of her suitor in this one.
