Das Bregenzerwälder Haus war immer schon ein Holzhaus, dieser Werkstoff war und ist hier im Überfluss vorhanden. Vor etwa 50 Jahren entwickelten Vorarlberger "Baukünstler" (der Name Architekt wurde ihnen vom Establishment verweigert) eine moderne, einfache und schlichte Bauweise mit Holz, im Gegensatz zum damals üblichen, üppigen "Alpinstil". Sie sind damit in der internationalen Architekturszene bekannt und anerkannt worden. Vielleicht zeige ich hier noch einmal Beispiele, wie schön zeitgenössische moderne Architektur sein kann.

The Bregenzerwald house has always been a wooden house, this material was and is available here in abundance. Around 50 years ago, Vorarlberg "building artists" (the name architect was denied them by the establishment) developed a modern, simple and unpretentious construction method using wood, in contrast to the opulent "Alpine style" that was common at the time. They became known and recognized in the international architecture scene. Perhaps I will show you here some examples of how beautiful contemporary modern architecture can be.

The village of Rhu is on the west coast of Scotland, 26 miles to the north west of Glasgow. It sits on the east bank of the Gareloch and the nearest town is Helensburgh.
