Much of the display at this outdoor store is similar to things 100 years ago (not so, 150 or 200 years ago, though, muchless 1000 years ago): things for shelter, sleep, preparing and serving food, toilet needs, rubbish disposal, and so on. The cycle of the day when living outdoors in 1925 or in 2025 is not too different. But the design and engineered fabrics and metals and plastics and electronics have been refined now.
Taking the point of view of pastoral tribes or nomadic societies, though, it is likely that all this specialized and pricey equipment would be regarded as clutter and a waste of very limited cargo space (bulk and weight). Historically (and before history was written down), outdoor living was managed with far simpler inventories, no doubt. Knowledge, customs and belief baked into habits and "common" sense, as well as sharing of burdens and blessings made the outdoor way possible with far less gear than modern adventurers carry.
