TARDEC Warren, Michigan. photographs of new technology, scientists and engineers.

The X-15 program started about 2 years before I was born, and continued until December of 1968. For a long time during my youth "X-15" was synonymous with "rocket plane" and "test flying".

 

During the program 8 pilots flew to altitudes greater than 50 miles above the earth, and thereby qualified for either US Air Force or NASA Astronaut Wings.

With the hope to eliminate the shame and stigma of menstruation for this generation of students in Hampton Roads and beyond.

Hall D is dedicated to the operation of a large-acceptance detector for experiments with a broad-band, linearly-polarized photon beam produced by ~12 GeV electrons from CEBAF.
