The whole scene was in sync with the republic day. The gorgeous saffron sky and the lush green fields. The wheel (Ashoka Chakra) in the middle completed the look of our great tricolor. Happy Republic Day!

It is mainly performed during the Ossuary Feast or the Pig Festival in or near the houses in the island of Car Nicobar. This dance is devoted to the deceased head of the family. It is observed with night long dancing in the full moonlight under the swaying palms. The dancers dressed in coconut fronds step charmingly in time to traditional songs

This is no ordinary tricolour... this is saffron white and green - the tricolour that gives me a sense of belonging and pride..
Republic Day Greetings to all Indians across the globe.
There are lot of discussions and debate going around nowadays on how men should empower women... so....This republic day I would like to leave you with this quote by Diane Mariechild "A woman is like a circle she has the power to create, nurture and transform" .... so treat your women with love and respect ..and that is all you need to do to empower them ..they will do the rest.

* Ganga Puja - The girl's endurance is tested during the evening puja... wherein she is supposed carry water from the well and in the way the cousins of the Groom stop her by dancing in front of her.
This goes on for hours and hours... in this case it was 3 hours.
