The train is working it's way towards the Hinkley Road crossing near Hodge just outside of Barstow as it races across the Mojave Desert.

Je l’avais déjà repérée une fois mais sans pouvoir l’approcher. Hier il faisait gris et entre deux averses je suis retournée dans la mini prairie près de chez nous et je l’ai vue, orange dans les hautes herbes. Elle n’est pas très grande et parait toute neuve. La photo n’est pas extra car le fond est trop encombré mais il fallait choisir entre le maximum de netteté sur la libellule ou avoir un fond plus sobre. Et je n’ai pas eu le temps de faire beaucoup de prises non plus. Le premier cours d’eau est à au moins 1 km à vol de libellule, c’est bizarre de la trouver là.

I had already spotted it but had been unable to get close. It was rainy yesterday and I went back to the meadow nearby between two showers and here it was, orange on top of a weed. It is not very big and looks brand new. I’m not very satisfied with the photo because the background is quite cluttered but I didn’t have time to take many photos. I wonder why I found it there as the first stream is at least one kilometer away.

On our way to the fish market on Nelson Bay Marina, I noticed these Australian Pelicans resting on a post /

Alors que nous nous rendions au marche aux poissons, au bout de la Marina de Nelson Bay, j'ai remarque ces deux Pelicans Australiens au repos en haut d'un poteau.
