Circuit for my remote switch. It'll work with any DSLR, just change the connector to whatever fits yours.

This took me hours (noob to PS).
For macro photography I recommend using remote release cable to avoid shaky pictures and for micro-photography it's a must to use one. Most if not all SLR and mirror less cameras some sort way to connect a remote cable. You can purchase these cables at most camera stores, on ebay or Amazon.
Some use standard 2,5mm TRS or TRRS plugs and you can DIY these cables but some use proprietary connectors. A great resource for DIY-ing your remote is DOC-DIY's website: www.doc-diy.net/photo/remote_pinout/
I took this Panasonic remote apart to use the 2,5mm TRRS plug on a DIY circuit that's shown on the right. This circuit was used to emulate said remote release cable with a micro controller for automatic focus stacking shots
