A wall of a building known in recent years as the Design Center. Sometime before the 1980s, it had been Miller Brothers Auto dealership, one of many delearships along Baum Boulevard, now closed, torn down, or repurposed, like this one. The original remodel featured a bland and tacky faux facade. They've ripped it off and appear to be about to re-face it in brick. I like the transitional state best of all. I'm afraid the modern brick and windows that probably replaced the original showroom windows are going to stay.
以前倉敷の観光地区は倉敷川に面した200mぐらいの場所だけでした。そこから横道に入るとどこにでもある普通の街並みでした。ところがご覧の様に昭和レトロ風の街並みに作り替えられています。
あれ...倉敷は「江戸時代の問屋街」のはずでは？
いろいろ楽しませて頂いているので突っ込みはこれくらいにしておきましょう。
Previously, the tourist area of Kurashiki was only about 200m facing the Kurashiki River.When I entered the side street from there, it was an ordinary cityscape that was everywhere. However, as you can see, it has been remodeled into a 1930s-style cityscape.
That ... Isn't Kurashiki's tourism characteristic "18th century wholesale district"?
I'm having a lot of fun in this town, so I won't ask any more questions.

Guess nothing will ever stop the need to remodel. All the grass has been removed from a large area and new sod is being installed. Cleanup and maintenace is taking place at Houston National Cemetery. Surprisingly, there's vandalism that occurs here.
Hace unos días que en la televisión escuchamos que Ferrol era el peor sitio para vivir en Galicia. No era la primera vez que se usaba el municipio para establecer una comparación en que era el claro perdedor.
Coincido en que la situación laborar y mercantil es muy precaria. Se ha establecido un monopolio en torno a la construcción naval. Es un sector que presenta una gran variabilidad en la carga de trabajo y eso repercute mucho en la población.
La verdad es que da mucha pena como van cerrando más y más comercios, ya casi hay más locales vacío en muchas calles que abiertos. Muchos han resistido varias generaciones y han tenido que poner el cartel de liquidación tras la crisis de 2008 y durante la pandemia.
Sin embargo, sus alrededores son realmente bonitos y posee un patrimonio cultural, natural, militar y empresarial que deberían ser puesto en valor.
Esta afrenta fue directamente contrarrestada con multitud de fotos que muestran que a Ferrol lo que le sobra son cosas bonitas. Lo único que necesita para ser un referente de calidad de vida es un poco de suerte para sobrevivir más alejada del sector metalúrgico o una revitalización de los astilleros.
Yo no vivo en Ferrol, pero nací allí y paseo mucho por sus maravillosas playas y acantilados. Sabéis que mucho de lo que publico está fotografiado muy cerca de mi casa, en muchas ocasiones en la Costa Ártabra. Así que yo también quiero deciros que Ferrol es bonito, descuidado, en una continua obra, con unos políticos enfrentados pase lo que pase, con muchos ferrolanos que no se dan cuenta de la suerte de tener la costa que tienen, pero sin duda con rincones preciosos, tanto en la costa como en la ciudad.
Os pongo una foto de ayer, del castillo de San Felipe. Su nombre coincide con el de Felipe II, que ordenó su construcción nada menos que en 1557. A mediados del siglo XVIII se remodeló para añadir el foso, el hornabeque y la puerta principal. Desde él se tendía una cadena que cruzaba la ría hasta el fuerte de San Martín (hoy desgraciadamente casi desaparecido) para impedir la incursión de naves. Su potencia defensiva se reforzaba con el castillo de La Palma, mucho más reciente, y los fuertes de San Carlos y San Cristobal.
Su capacidad defensiva fue puesta a prueba en 1594 cuando la armada inglesa intentó apoderarse de Ferrol, fracasando en el intento, al igual que en 1639 durante el ataque francés. El 25 de agosto de 1800 la Armada inglesa trata nuevamente de apoderarse de Ferrol y destruir los astilleros militares (de los más importantes del mundo en esa época). Se concentraron más de cien barcos y quince mil hombres. Cuatro mil soldados se lanzaron contra el castillo aprovechando la ventaja de la altura de los montes cercanos pero fueron repelidos, sobre todo gracias al apoyo del fuerte de La Palma y de las cañoneras situadas en la ría. A los ingleses seguro que no les hizo mucha gracia, pero fue celebrado por Napoleón que más adelante logró hacerse con la plaza durante un corto periodo de un mes.
En septiembre de 1996 el Ministerio de Defensa sacó el edificio a subasta por un total de 164.900.000 pesetas. El precio no debió de ser conocido por ningún magnate ruso o Saudí, lo que provocó que la subasta quedara desierta y fuera adquirido cuatro años después por el Ayuntamiento de Ferrol que ha acometido ya diferentes obras de consolidación y restauración.

Centricamente ubicado en el corregimiento de San Francisco, sobre un terreno de 56.5 hectáreas, con un perí-metro de aproximadamente 5 kms se encuentra el Parque Recreativo y Cultural Omar (Parque Omar), uno de los parques de área verde más grandes de la Ciudad de Panamá . La mayorí-a de sus intalaciones son de uso público, cuenta con piscina, gimnasio, auditorio al aire libre, biblioteca, área de juegos para niños, campo de béisbol, canchas de tenis, baloncesto y fútbol. Con un promedio de 25,000 visitas al mes, el Parque Omar es uno de los sitios más concurridos por quienes disfrutan de las actividades al aire libre.
Antes de 1973, lo que hoy conocemos como Parque Omar era un exclusivo club de golf. Fue gracias a la gestión del entonces General Omar Torrijos Herrera que se iniciaron las negociaciones para adquirir estos terrenos y utilizarlos como espacios públicos. El proceso fue largo, pero finalmente la transacción de compra fue cerrada por un monto de 2.1 millones de dólares.
Recientemente el parque fue remodelado para acondicionar sus aceras pavimentadas, los sistemas de iluminación, agua potable y alcantarillado, la pista de patinaje bajo techo, el área de estacionamientos, las bancas, entre otras mejoras. Igualmente se aumentó el número de unidades policiales para garantizar la seguridad de sus visitantes.
El Parque Omar está abierto al público todos los dí-as de 4:00am a 10:00pm.

The mother eagle decided the nest would need a bit of remodeling since three eaglets have hatched. She flew off and came back with this stick to make the front "crib rails" slightly higher.

Walmart #1537 1270 York Rd Gettysburg, PA. This store is set to start a remodel tomorrow 8-15! I talked to a friend who works here and they told me this will STAY a Non-Supercenter but it will add more food and frozen/dairy. He says it will look like the Westminster, MD store now that they completed their recent remodel. By now most people know that Walmart pulled it's plains to build a new Supercenter in town after finally getting Township approval after at least 10 years of planning. It will be interesting to see what Walmart will do with this remodel here. I will be stopping by this location to keep an eye on the progress as I do live near by.

Here I thought they were thru with the work and thought the house was sold and then along came this group of workers and they are doing some remodeling .. Looks like insulation and that's good and should be done while the place is empty...

The building that housed the Liberty Theater opened circa 1910 as the Dixie Theater. In the 1930’s, the building was remodeled in the Art Deco style and renamed the Liberty Theater. The Liberty Theater closed in 2008.
