The Mormon Island Relocation Cemetery was constructed in 1954 by the Army Corps of Engineers. It was created in order to used as a new site for several cemeteries that would be submerged by Folsom Lake, newly created by the construction of Folsom Dam on the American River. Remains from the Gold Rush mining camps of Mormon Island, Salmon Falls, Negro Hill, Condemned Bar, Carrollton Bar, McDowell’s Hill, Natural Dam and Doton’s Bar cemeteries, plus five individual graves were relocated to relocation cemetery after its construction. In 1996, remains from the Prairie City Cemetery were interred after being discovered during the construction of the Prairie City Road on-ramp to Highway 50.

Advances in operational medicine for Navy Medicine and Defense Health Agency was on full display with the annual Continuous Process Improvement Fair held at Naval Hospital Bremerton, May 10-13, 2025. Lt. Justin Roelofs pointed out that the Neurology Clinic, with project leads Lt. Cmdr. Margaret Mitzkewich, himself and team members Hospital Corpsman 1st Class William Brown and HM2 Kyle Champion, determined that they were retrieving approximately 16 vials per week of Botulinum from the inpatient pharmacy. Not a difficult task, but time consuming. Due to the constant need for refrigeration and inability to pick up in bulk, there was the continuous need to only pick up one order at a time. Relocating Hitch: So far so good. She seems happier there than in my kitchen (no Mr. Eko was not helping). She'll be released in the warehouse soon and will have heat in the winter and AC in the summer. I do hope she decides to stay:)
