With Canon having discontinued most (if not all) of their EF/EF-S line of lenses, I decided to collect what I could in the recent months.

This is the EF 50mm f/1.8. Otherwise known as the "Nifty Fifty". This is actually the third revision of this model, with upgraded build quality and STM motors for continuous focusing. I had the previous revision, which was a pretty cheap lens (and built pretty crappy) and took a decent photo. I only picked this one up for my film photography class in community college ten years earlier due to the fact that film SLR cameras were all "full frame" and I wanted something else to complement the 35-80mm lens that came with the SLR I picked up. The super-wide aperture makes this a very nice lens to use in low light conditions and allows you to get some pretty nice effects when shooting video as I found out back then. The actual previous model I owned literally fell apart one day starting with the focusing ring. I picked this model up sometime in 2016.
