I was positioned out in the middle of the wetlands to catch the moon as it rose right along the edge of the old WWII artillery triangulation tower. At first, the clouds obscured the moon and disappointment was about to set in, when suddenly the clouds opened up for about two minutes. What was a great moment was made even better as three geese came in to land right out of the rising moon, adding a little something extra to the moment.
A nice cloud formation greeted me on this morning along the Atlantic Coast in Delaware, looking out over part of the beach and some dune grasses.

My phone weather app said it was a clear morning and that it was also 21 degrees outside at my house. Two reasons to NOT go to the beach, right? I went anyhow. I love a surprise like this. Good morning Flickr!
People stroll through a charming alleyway at Penney Lane Mall, a local hidden gem. It is located just steps away from the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk (Delaware).
This mall transports you far away from the typical atmosphere of a coastal town. With narrow brick walkways, planters, decorative streetlamps, and charming facades, it is more reminiscent of a Parisian alleyway than a shopping center on the coast.

I found a row of these bushes next to a hotel in downtown Rehoboth Beach and have no idea what they are.
On Saturday, I went to a bus tour to Delaware. Another summer month. I stood apart with my camera... it was Rehoboth Beach. I watched the spectacle unfolding on the beach with silent indifference. This wasn't the tropical beach I used to go to. It lacked the refreshing wet sand, the lush palm trees, and the sea grapes plants. But that is my personal preference. 😉
The sun was merciless; a molten coin suspended in a cloudless sky. The sand was hostile, each grain, a tiny ember beneath my feet. I couldn't really walk on that sand without feeling trapped with every step, and I wasn't barefoot. The dunes rosed at the edge of the beach, offering no shade, only the illusion of escape. Hundreds of colorful umbrellas lined the shore like a chaotic garden. Beneath them, people scattered, chatting or sunbathing, glistening with sweat and sunscreen.
Still, there was something strangely captivating in the chaos. A momentary beauty in imperfection. It was like looking at a painting you didn't want to hang but couldn't tear your eyes away. I took a lot of photos, but most were slightly distorted by the heat and salt. I'm used to walking, but today I feel sore and just plain exhausted.
Sorry for the lengthy narrative; I feel better writing it now, even if you don't read it. But if you do, thank you very much.

My first post in a looong time. Finished a few weeks of camping and some photos to share. This was at Delaware Seashore State Park at the Indian River Inlet, north beach, on a beautiful morning!

I don't really do much "after dark" photography as I have a pretty old Nikon that doesn't take great nighttime shots....or maybe it's just me, I don't know. Either way, this one wasn't entirely blurry so I finally decided to post!
I have been having awful internet connectivity issues over the past week which has severely limited my time on Flickr. Hopefully I'll get it straightened out sooner rather than later and I can make it back to my friends' pages quickly.
Have a great Tuesday, Flickr friends!
