Monastery - Nilova Hermitage. Tver region. Russia.
The monastery dates back to 1528, from the moment of the arrival of the Monk Nile on the island of Stolobny, on Lake Seliger.
A few years later, after the presentation of the Monk Nil of Stolobensky, in 1594, a Blessing was given for the opening of the monastery of the Nilov Pustyn.
In the 18-19 centuries, the Nilova Pustyn Monastery was one of the largest cultural centers in Russia, with a huge library, educational institutions, with its own large production of goods and products.
It was in the Nilova desert that Leonty Magnitsky, a mathematician and teacher, studied under whom, later, the Great Lomonosov studied. Nilova Hermitage was visited by many great people, including Emperor Alexander I and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
After the blasphemous looting and partial destruction of the monastery by the Bolsheviks, the buildings were used as a colony for minors, as a prisoner of war camp, as a military hospital, as a camp site. When all the buildings of the monastery fell into disrepair and could no longer be used, without major repairs, by the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR, in 1990, the monastery complex was transferred to the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
2016 marks the 25th anniversary of the revival of the Nilo-Stolobensky Monastery. Ahead, there are still colossal works to restore the former splendor of the holy monastery. But already now, the Nilo-Stolobenskaya hermitage is the pearl of the Tver diocese. Even in spite of all the destruction that befell from the godless power, this monastery with all this lies before us in all its beauty and grandeur of the genius of architecture, the pious ancestors of the Russian land.
Today, the monastery, thanks to the governor Archimandrite Arkady (Gubanov), is being successfully restored by the brethren and already has its own autonomous production of products, which is in great demand among pilgrims and local residents.

Sunset on Jungfrau Region near Grindelwald, Interlaken-Oberhasli administrative district, canton of Bern, Switzerland
The village of Grindelwald is nestled in a unique and impressive Alpine landscape. The Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau form the ice-capped mountain scenery of the glacier village.
Thanks to its magnificent vista and the glacier which once reached right into the basin, Grindelwald attracted its first guests – primarily the English – from the end of the 18th century onwards. The actual breakthrough of Alpinism occurred in the mid 19th century, and local mountain guides climbed the peaks of the region with English tourists. The first ascent of the Eiger, the most difficult of Alpine mountains took place in 1858 (the north face only in 1938).
Road and railway construction made Grindelwald much more accessible towards the end of the 19th century, which in turn also heralded the onset of winter tourism. The first cableway in the Alps was built here in 1908 on the Wetterhorn. And in 1912, a railway reached the Jungfraujoch via Kleine Scheidegg; today the «Top of Europe» still remains Europe’s highest railway station and a world-renowned excursion destination within permanent snow and ice.

Before knowing the weather condition of the Himalayan region we should understand its geography. The Himalayan region covers an area of 2,250 km with an average width of 200 km.
The forest belt of the Himalayan region consists of Oak, Rhododendron, Birch, Pine, Deodar, and Fir. And the monsoon season in this region lasts for mid June till the end of September. The Himalayas influences the meteorological conditions in the Indian subcontinent to the south and in the Central Asian highlands to the north to a great extent. It acts a climatic divider circulating the air and water system to a great extent. Because of its altitude and location it blocks the passage of the cold winds coming from the north to the Indian sub continent thereby making India's climate much more moderate. It also influences the rainfall pattern in India. The combined effect of rainfall, latitude and altitude largely influences the forests belts in the Himalayan region. The rainfall is mostly recorded during the monsoon time of June to September but it decreases as you travel from east to west. The snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas stretch 2, 250 km from the Namcha Barwa to Nanga Parbat on the Indus. The range extends from east to west up to central-Nepal and then takes a southeast to northwest direction.

A region release last night caught mine and my Alicorn's eye as we walked, galloped, flew, and swam through the region. Great fun, check out the new fantasy region(s).

The Sun U Ponnya Shin Pagoda lies atop a ridge some 12 km (7.5 mi.) southwest of Mandalay, in the Sagaing Hills, Sagaing, Sagaing Region, Myanmar. In this view looking south-southeast from the pagoda, the Irrawaddy River is seen beyond the golden stupa in the foreground. The line of stupas on the right lie in the Mandalay Region, along the true left bank of the river.
