Captured at Hellestøstranden, Rogaland.
The setting sun gave beautiful reflections in the wet sand on the beach.
Reflection of the United States lightship Chesapeake (LV-116), part of the Maritime Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.
Sunday afternoon, Ken & I decided to give my little car a much needed wash. The reflections on it were so much fun to see once it was clean! :)
I like the sky detail very much, so wanna make a reflection of it. I applied Ocean Ripple Filter here. I know it's not smooth but I'll stop here. Feel free to tell me what do u think. Thank you.
A reflection in water at The San Antonio River Walk shot on Ektachrome Film in 1978. Taken with a Vivitar 35-105mm zoom lens on a Minolta SRT-101.
Another option for today's CY prompt "reflection"...and totally fits Where I stand today....After a rain and wind storm, the birdbath is filled with pine needles, pine cones, branches and leaves. Today I scrubbed the slimy sides and bottom and refilled with new water. #whereistandtoday#ourwisproject
Another reflection off of a flat surface with a little surprise. If you look closely under the main blast there is another small explosion/shock wave starting.
When I put the explosive on the top support it goes into a little brass cup. Sometimes some spills off the cup and lands on the surface below. This time a small chunk of the Ag2C was detonated by the explosion of the larger charge.
If I could control this I could make some nice patterns. I've read papers were researchers do exactly this by setting off small charges simultaneously by using a beam split YAG laser. the heat/shock from the laser sets off two small explosions at the almost exactly the same time.
Cheers.
Reflections of Angkor was photographed during a recent trip to Cambodia in the fall of 2006. Angkor Wat is a temple at Angkor, Cambodia, built for king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. The largest and best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre — first Hindu, dedicated to Vishnu, then Buddhist — since its foundation. The temple is the epitome of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a national symbol for Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors. Angkor Wat combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the temple mountain and the later galleried temples. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, home of the gods in Hindu mythology. Angkor Wat is also the location in which Angelina Jolie filmed the The first of the Tomb Raider films.

Artist Statement:
This series of images explores the identity of the two women it features. The images are intended to challenge the viewers’ perception of the women by portraying them in an obscure, indirect manner. Although it is deliberately made obvious that both figures are women, their features are not distinct, adding to the mystery of them both and increasing the uncertainty of the viewer.
In each of the images the figures are not photographed directly, but as reflections on distressed surfaces, distorting their images and signifying how the way in which other people perceive these women is so different from their true identity. The constant presence of the red veil is a symbol of their strength and authority.
The decision to take the photographs in this specific location was made after discussion with the two women, who identified this as a place with which they have a considerable history, a place of calm and peace, surrounded by nature and where they feel they can expose their true selves.
In one of the images the photographer can be viewed, concealed between the women and the trees. She is barely noticeable when first viewed, yet is uncovered when the image is explored in greater depth. She seems to be behind the ever-present red veil, as if it is a protective barrier, reflecting the relationship between the two women and myself, the photographer.
Through this series of work I have been able to explore my relationship to these women visually in a way, which I have never been able to articulate through words. I have been able to explain to myself and demonstrate to them the respect that I hold for them and to show how I value their strength and dignity.
first pictures from my trip to Kühlungsborn. As you can see, the weather was very bad..

Again using photoshop to give a mono lith style effect. gives subtle, slightly soft highlights and deep gritty shadows. Love the way in turns the water so swirly combining the reflection of the clouds.
This and the other "reflection" photos are from light reflecting off the top of a rigid plastic laundry hamper. As the sun tracked across the sky (technically it's because of the earth's rotation, the terms we use to say what happens, i.e., "tracking across the sky" or "changes position" are imprecise) the reflections changed moment to moment. These winter reflections will change as the seasons change and the sun is higher in the sky.
