I don't usually photograph "street scenes" and after I saw how this came out, I really should have waited for more "action" from the people on the pier.
I had the camera set to shutter priority, which has AUTO ISO and the photo, taken at 240mm (the maximum telephoto setting on my kit lens for the EOS-R) has an ISO of 1000.
I'm at the end of the pier. There's a lot of space between where the buildings start, so everything is compressed. The f stop is at 7.1 and you can read the signs outside the Cinco de Mayo restaurant.
I wasn't after "composition" so much as I was after deep depth of field, the the signs for the three restaurants are "naturally" on a diagonal.
Seek ye first his kingdom and righteousness and all these things
will be added unto you.

I guess my long exposure shots are done for now. Here is a new one i took yesterday after eating crabs at redondo beach.
I spotted this bird fying around.
Hope you guys like it! .
"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."
"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."
All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.
Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

One of MY FAVORITE songs by DMB. I love this. Always have.
THIS GOES PERFECT TO THE MOOD!
Take a listen.
For the first time in quite a while I wasn't feeling confident about my look this morning. My jaw was square, my hair was wrong, and I just wasn't feeling it. But I had a free morning before catching my flight home, so I put on my smile and enjoyed a beautiful morning on the waterfront. I felt much better after getting out. Wouldn't have wanted to pack for two and not have used it!
I headed to the Redondo Beach Pier to get a bit of that salty air and take in the view and some sunshine. It worked wonders for me. The smile is firmly in place!
This was taken as I got back to my car and while there were still a few feelings about his not being me at my best, it was a world of difference from when I was getting ready. I'm so glad I took advantage of the weather and the few hours I had to get out. I felt so much better and still had time to get a quick workout in when I got back to the hotel. Until next time!
