In the quiet dance of dreams, a young woman forsakes her past to chase the shimmering silhouette of her acting aspirations. + for some people, you will never be enough. no matter how many degrees you get, how much weight you loose, how you do your hair, whether you get your nails done, make up or no make up, what you wear, how big your house is, how fancy shmancy your car is, the jewelry you wear- it’s not enough for them.
+ will a partner necessarily fulfill you? what if they say or do something that you don’t approve of? then what, you’re whole life comes crumbling down? the fantasy you have made in your head that some woman or man is going to come save you and be your all, is a false narrative. ok so lets you get married, and it doesn’t work out. then, maybe the 2nd marriage will be the answer to all your woes? how about the 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. marriage? could the answer be found within yourself?
+ will having a child make you happier? maybe, maybe not. let’s say, you’re not a very content (satisfied) and joyful (not a feeling) person. you may not have a lot of financial support. do you have a stable partner to help you raise this child?
+ is it up to your child now to make you happy? is that fair to your child? this child now has to grow up with the expectation to make the adults closest to them happy and also financially support their adult parents. is that the best way to raise a child? do you think your child feels safe growing up in a house where the adults are not stable (emotionally/mentally/physically/financially)?
+ it’s not up to your child to make you (the adult) happy, feel good enough, give you enough compliments to make you feel superior, or to provide for all your spending adventures. the answer can only be found within yourself and the satisfaction you feel when you are “alone.” excess noise, distractions, material goods, food, substance abuse, porn, being a workaholic will not fill that void.
+ as a child, that is incredibly painful to bear. Now that you are an adult, you have a choice. You can sit and be bitter and resentful of your past. (side note: it’s completely normal and good to cry it out for as long as necessary) maybe we could view our past as something we can learn from? making peace with our past is work in itself.
+ here lies the question, is it up to you to make them see that you’re good enough? if someone doesn’t feel or believe like they themselves are good enough, how can they see that YOU are good enough?
+ YOU have to do the internal work and come to the realization that you ARE ENOUGH. all this external stuff is actually a hindrance to your most vulnerable true self. Even if I stand in front of your face right now and tell you that “you are ENOUGH”. Would you even believe me?
+ Maybe Yes, but why would my opinion of you matter if you already understand that you are enough.
+ Maybe No, why is that? Maybe you are judging me by what I wear, how i look, whether or not i have the degrees to be worthy enough of your attention, do i have enough friends (are they the friends of your liking), how many followers do i have online, hair no hair, do i speak the way you approve of, do i walk the way you’d like, do i make eye contact (is it long enough), am i old enough for you to take me seriously, am i too young for you to take me seriously. am i bold enough for you to take the time to notice me.

+ Remember, no one is perfect and thats the beautiful thing about being human. You don’t have to be perfect, you can be perfectly imperfect. You will be misunderstood by many and thats ok. why? because most people don’t even understand themselves. most people don’t even have their own shit together (hi!) and they are telling you what to do. It’s ok if not everyone likes you. Do you like you? Is that enough? I can’t answer these questions for you.
+ Are you here? Did you wake up this morning? Is there a roof over your head? Are there clothes on your back? Is there food in your fridge? Do you have shoes? A backpack? Blankets and Pillows? Did someone say Hi to you today? Can you read? Are you able to get an education? Are there free educational resources available for you online? Can you hear the music? (can you listen without judgement of external appearances)
+ (Knowing that we all have sinned and not to judge others) Will that next drink be the source of your answers? how about that next partner? or friend? or job? or new outfit? next degree? having a child or 6 (no offense to people who love kids), etc.
