I love a sunny winter's day and a drive to the sea, and what better car to do it in than a nice old Mercedes Benz 300 SL roadster.
A forced perspective of the 1/18th scale model Mercedes Benz 300 SL by Norev, taken on location at Beachport on South Australia's Limestone coast.
The rocky breakwater beyond the boat ramps was absolutely covered with crested terns! They took flight every now and then creating quite a scene. Some photos of that will follow soon.

A forced perspective shot of two of my favourite 1/18th scale model cars, otherwise known as Ziggy and Molly, parked by the wonderful riverside cliffs at Walker Flat on the Murray River in South Australia.
This will be my last post for a short while. Just taking a break to rest the eyes. Having a little trouble focussing both together at the moment. Typing this was more than a little tricky - only about 40 corrections needed! ; )

A couple months ago I made a hyper realistic version of my character Pink-Man. After I posted it, I really looked at the figure and realized that it didn't look that good. It was mainly the torso that didn't look great, so I remade it.
This updated version has been sitting on my desk for a couple weeks just waiting to get uploaded. So here it finally is.
Also, that title in the top left is (possibly) the title I'm going to stick with. It's pretty much a five minute photoshopping thing. Idk, it could be better and it could be worse. Let me know what you think of it. :D

I witnessed the occultation of Mars behind the Moon. This is a composite of six exposures, 5 minutes apart starting at 6:37pm local time in Cupertino, California. In the San Francisco Bay Area we had the privilege that the red planet was traveling dead center behind the Moon. In reality it's the other way around, the Moon travels in front of the stars in the background. I took these shots with a 600mm lens and a 2x tele extender on a crop sensor camera, resulting in a 35 mm equivalent of 1800mm, which is a very small field of view, or in other words a large magnification.
Mars is twice as big as the moon (3400 km vs. 1700 km radius), but appears much smaller because it is so much further away.
I processed a realistic and a balanced HDR photo from 6 RAW exposures, manually aligned and stacked them, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
