This is a grafitti of Notorious B.I.G. One of the most influencial rappers of the 90's in New York City. His musical talent as well as his life were suddenly cut short when he was gun down on tour in the West Coast. The hip-hop generation mourns his death.

Bekanntlich ist Sonntags in der Regel der Ruhetag was Güterverkehr auf der Ostwest betrifft. An diesem Sonntag zog es mich dennoch nach Sunstedt(Königslutter). hier konnte nach 2 Stunden warten endlich Der Haifisch von Rail Force One Bildlich eingefangen werden. Von hier an hatte er noch eine weite Reise bis ins tiefste Niederlande.

Our part of the village of Riehen BS Switzerland was bathed in a golden glow for most of the summer. The local farmer had planted big fields of Raps (Rapeseed) just up the street. I posted other photos of it then (e.g. www.flickr.com/photos/49304401@N00/33871474383/in/datepos...) But here is one I forgot to post, that I quite like. Also if you click to look close, you will see our tiny dog, Stella, nosing around. Taken with--of all things--my ancient (2011) iPhone 4s. It still works fine, but a bit more slowly these days. Kind of like its owner.

For this image of rap artist Sizzoll, I used one strobe with a standard reflector and a 30 degree grid as my over head light. For the background I used a 7ft Octobank and shot directly into it. You can see a bit of the light rapping around him on the sides.

SS Dunraven - Beacon Rock. Sha´Ab Mahmud by Juan Andrés Fuentes Martínez

Vista desde la Popa, Timón y hélice de bronce.

El SS Dunraven fue construido en Inglaterra en el año 1873, con 82 mts de eslora y 10 de manga y se le consideraba rápido para la época al combinar la navegación a vela (contaba con dos mástiles) y la propulsión de una caldera de vapor. Su ruta era la de las especias, entre Bombay e Inglaterra; siendo operado por la naviera Milburn de Londres.

A tan solo tres años de su botadura, choco contra el extremo sur del arrecife Sha´Ab Mahmud, concretamente sobre la zona del mismo conocida como Beacon Rock.

Toda su tripulación fue rescatada ilesa tras diez horas a la deriva en los botes salvavidas. El SS Dunraven transportaba en el momento de su hundimiento un cargamento de maderas y algodón.
