Dat ene ingesneeuwde Russische dorpje bereiken, de lavastromen op het eiland La Palma trotseren of op jacht naar een piratenschat op Madagaskar? Het zou me niets verbazen als deze Dodge het allemaal aan zou kunnen. Toch ben ik erg benieuwd waar deze heftig aangepakte Ram voor gebruikt wordt in het Zuid-Limburgse heuvellandschap. Behalve dan de ritjes naar de plaatselijke Albert Heijn.

Want to reach that one snowed-in Russian village, brave the lava flows on the island of La Palma or hunt for pirate treasure in Madagascar? I wouldn't be surprised if this Dodge could handle it all. Still I am very curious what this heavily modified Ram is used for in the hilly landscape of South Limburg. Except for the trips to the local Albert Heijn supermarket.

On this Tuesday August 4th ,2026 morning the sun is just rising above the Lobo mts .We see on the west side of Milk Bowl Diner and Travel Center ,Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Deputy Crystal Vallez unit parked next New Mexico State Police Officer Andrew Lopez unit and Eagle Lake State Park maintenance worker Matt Chadson work truck ,as County school district bus circles around to get fuel before heading out on route
Inside the diner normal chatter about drought ,economy, AI / date centers ,very slow start to monsoon season ,waterline and parking issues in Sparta along with very low water levels at Eagle Lake.
Waitress Rebeca Tmis gives Crystal and Andrew their breakfast bill she says “ it always something people complain about around here “ Crystal laughs and answers “ always something and with this being second week of 26/27 School little good complaining be nice a change “ She pays for her bill before heading up to her post at the Elementary School . Andrew pays for his bill and ask Matt “ when main ramp should be reopen “

As Matt grabs his to-go order of coffee and breakfast burritos for him and co-workers ,he glances at the office of Milk Bowl owner Priscilla Gray ,as she mumbles something a little too loud about politicians and lake levels . As Matt rolls his eyes and exits through the Convenience store side of the building , Store clerk Crystal Sullivan adjusts the radio volume . As podcast/morning show “ Hens chatter “ comes on local KRTK Radio station ,hosted by Sabrina Ridge and Shelby Potter they are interviewing District 1 Commissioner Jeb Cox ,who been trying his best to promote to the area with tourism being second number one industry in the county and hurting badly from real and fake news of water levels at the lake . He thought the local Chamber of Commerce and Friends of Eagle Lake State Park would be taking the lead ,but like many in the area have noticed mostly crickets from them.They take music breaks and play “A Little Good News “ song by Anne Murray and released in September 1983.
Milk Bowl Diner and Travel center, which is one of about ten restaurants in the county, and the only one open 24/7. 5 miles south of Sparta the County Seat
On this Chilly Saturday Dec 24th ,2022 ,We see two Whiteout Industries drivers taking a break outside of their rigs .
Fictional Snow Harbor is on a fictional island in Beaufort Sea just off the coast from the Mainland of Alaska's north slope.

Hazzard Range county sheriff's office Sergeant Butch Soto , advice he was out on Church Street near the cemetery in Fort Hazzard to advise a RVer of blocking a lane .Scene investigation/ RV moved /cleared
On this Thursday June 23, 2022 afternoon .We see Hazzard Range sheriff’s office Lieutenant Ron Bayerd tells ICR ( Inter County railway ) Shop/Maintenance worker James Baca that NM 168 is going to be closed over Lucky Pass for next few hours as emergency crews clear a bad wreck .
So James heads for a longer route to Route to Apache to pick up badly needed parts for the railway .
On this Saturday May 27th, 2023 ,we see Eagle Lake State Park Ranger Warren Patches looking out at still rising Eagle lake ,taking a few minute break ,before heading back out . He knows this week has already been busy as it is Memorial Day weekend ,he is just hoping beside the normal problems ,the weekend is mostly an uneventful one . Warren also hope that visitors remember real reason behind Memorial Day

After a heavy monsoonal rain on this Friday August 5th ,2022 . We see Hazzard Range County sheriff’s office Lieutenant Bubba Sanchez walking through standing water to get to his unit ,behind the County Government Center that also houses the Sheriff’s admin office in Sparta, the County seat.
As the wind picks up from a passing storm system ,on this Thanksgiving ( 11/24/2022) early afternoon ,we see Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s office Lieutenant Dolly King talking with Bill Cabot, co-owner of Blue’s Café, which is just two of the restaurants open today in the county .

Hazzard Range County sheriff’s office Sergeant Shawn Ridge assisted Deputy Amanda Wisey with a report tampering with a water meter at the rear of 600 block of Main st / NM 168 in Sparta . Scene investigated
This Flashback takes us to an April day in 1995 ,We see Muddy Spring Police Dept Sergeant Larry Ortiz taking a call at the Lone tree motel.
Sergeant Larry Ortiz spent his whole career with the Muddy Spring PD from 1985 ( same year the village was incorporated ) until he retired in 2010 .
Muddy Spring Population of about 1000 ( 2020 ) ,it is also located 14 miles north of the county line and is about 18 miles south of Apache, the county seat of Apache county.

Clay county Sheriff Shawn Gray announced that the Sheriff's office now has certified drug dog . The K-9 unit is made up of canine deputy Fort and handler Sergeant Lee Jamison ,who been with the Sheriff's office for 7 years . Sheriff Gray would like thank the community for the support and funding to get Fort and train him .

We visited a friend of my wife the other day and was amazed to find this big boy parked close to her house. She explained that her neighbour goes over to the States to buy cars which he then imports to the UK and does well selling these big American gas-guzzling vehicles. He brings them home from his business occasionally but does find difficulty parking them on the narrow side-streets close to his house!
This is a V-8 5.7 litre Petrol 8-speed automatic 2017 Ram and does about 20miles to a gallon of our very expensive petrol (about £5 a gallon, that’s about $6.70) so only people who are very well off can afford them!
On this 90 °F Sunday Sept 4th ,2022 we see Eagle Lake State Park Ranger Anthony Sueburg driving along Winter Cove rd that runs from NM state rd 168 to Winter cove, a subdivision in the northern part of the county along Eagle lake. Also in the area is Narrow cove marina ,is the northern boat ramp on the lake . With the lake being around 4.8% full, Narrow Cove Marina is high and dry, and has been for some years . But campground in area is still open so Ranger Sueburg is doing routine patrol in the area

Hazzard Range County sheriff’s office Sergeant Butch Soto took a report of illegal dumping along with abandoned vehicle on Pantano rd in the southern part of the county, Scene investigated / Penn auto repair & towing along with County public works called / scene cleared .

This area is where the Rio Grande flows through a marshy area and Pantano rd is a paved /dirt road that goes halfway along the marsh to the little community of Pantano. Pantano means marsh in Spanish and the southern part of rd is known for Illegal dumping ,but abandoned vehicles are not as common ..

OASIS SPRINGS -SWEETWATER TRIBUNE
Following an upper-level storm system overnight, the county experienced a range of rainfall, with the heaviest amounts falling in the Canada Valley.
Sweetwater County Fire and Rescue Chief Raymond Nighville told the Tribune that the Canada Valley River came close, but did not overflow, and the side creeks did, blocking three sections of Canada Valley Road between the Canada Valley River Road junction and En Camino Pass.
County public works had the road passable by 5 pm Saturday, Sept 13th,2025

Clay county sheriff's office Deputy Joe Stonesk assisted Sergeant/k-9 handler Lee Jamison and K-9 Fort with a traffic stop on NM 308 in the TLS basin. One male was arrested and booked into Clay County Detention center for transportation of narcotic drugs, possession of narcotic drugs for sale and possession of narcotic drugs.

On Saturday September 4th 2021 Shortly after 7pm Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s office deputies were involved in a shooting on Industry rd in western part of Sparta . Undersheriff Bradley Gore told the Herald that deputies were dispatched to Hazzard Range recycling to a report of a security alarm going off . When deputies arrived on scene two people opened fire on them and deputies returned fire. He added one of the subjects was killed and another was injured. New Mexico State Police are handling the investigation and two deputies are on paid admin leave.
