and I would advise you not to wait ten years before admitting today was great. If you're hung up on nostalgia, pretend today is yesterday and just go out and have one hell of a time :-)

This is the old, traditional fishing stage in Raleigh, Newfoundland. 'Fishing stage' is a particularly Newfoundland term for these platforms. During the heyday of the cod fishery, this would be the place where the boats would come in and unload their catch. The sheds are equipped with working tables for processing, salting and drying the fish. Since the Cod Moratorium (when the government of Canada closed the cod fishery in Newfoundland to protect it from overfishing in 1992) these old wooden stages have been disappearing fast. I made it a point to try and photograph all of them that I could find, and I'll post some of my favourites over the next few days.
I've written a blog post about my Newfoundland trip if you'd like to read it.
If you’d like to see all the Newfoundland images together, I’ve updated my website and you can see them all on the Galleries page.
Another flash street portrait.
Generally, I don't take pictures of homeless people. However, Raleigh asked me for some money, so I gave him some, after which he invited me to take pictures of him (which took me by surprise). He says his situation has just recently improved, and does not expect to be homeless any more.

Raleigh Vendt is a ballerina with the Texas Ballet Theatre Company. Because of the pandemic, live performances are currently not happening, which is a financial hardship for the company and so many talented artists; not just dancers, but musicians and others. On top of that, these talented people miss performing to a live crowd and having that instant feedback from the audience. I sure hope the vaccine gets distributed faster than planned and that everyone takes it. Keller, Texas, USA, December 2020

After dropping off 11 cars at the CSX interchange, 86 continues on passing over the rebuilt right of way over CSX and Tuscarora Creek before heading into downtown Martinsburg, WV. The track and bridges were heightened as part of CSX's National gateway project in order to allow domestic double-stack containers on the former B&O East End.
The road known as the Raleigh Street extension opened in late 2013 and provides motorists with an alternate avenue into downtown and provides this scene looking north from the overpass.
