Simon fetched the headboard for an official visit of the depot and to photograph Railriders.

Entering its 6th week at Knottingley 175 is becoming our pet shed and working hard daily on intensive biomass diagrams.

Was a pleasure to meet to man who got Railriders back off the ground.

I've always had a connection with Toton TMD, from visits with my Dad when he went there for work, to my many visits later for photography work which I was lucky to be asked to do, ending up living in the village (Yeah, I'm the idiot..) and running a webpage with the name.. I've also been lucky to attend the two staff open days last year & this, managing to gain a place through RailRiders this year to be able to partake in the guided tour around.

So this has afforded the possibility of a then and now view of the inside of the shed, from 1987 with 58s, 56,s & a 31, and this year with 66s and a 60. I know which one I prefer...

On 24th September 2022, the shadows were never far away as DRS 66303 'Rail Riders' and 66431 power up in tandem on the climb to Shap summit at High Scales, in charge of the 4S43 06:40 Daventry to Mossend Tesco container train, the Class 66s replacing the usual Class 88 traction on this occasion. Unlike the two charter trains each side of this working, there wasn't a Class 47 clagging away at the rear! 66303 is one of five Class 66/3s leased by DRS from Beacon Rail, and all were to be returned at the end of the 5-year lease contract at the beginning of October.
