This is a portrait taken on a recent visit to the RSPB reserve at Pulborough. Like stonechats do it was flitting around a great deal and thankfully from my perspective often perched out in the open at the top of a Bush. It also made a good deal of noise and whether that was my presence or something else I'm not sure. There is quite a difference between winter and summer plumages but I am pretty sure that this is a female in her winter attire. My only concern is that its white throat is a little indistinct.

* I made my annual pilgrimage to RSPB Bempton on Wednesday evening . It was unusual weather on the cliffs, warm and still instead of the usual chilly East wind . It obviously effected the birds the Gannets in particularly were flying much lower down the cliffs instead of being at eye level. It made flight shots much more difficult . I have to say I was not too concerned about getting too many images . I still have a lot of photos from Bempton in the archives from 2018, 2019 and 2020

This is one of the few I did take as I was using a long lens 500 mm I could not get it wide enough to catch all the Gannets wing . Stepping back to get a wider view would have been difficult Still I am quite happy with the result.

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM. I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO WITHOUT ALSO LEAVING A COMMENT .

After a few changed plans we finally made to to Bempton on Friday. Even with full car parks there always seems to be plenty of room to wander the cliff top path and take in the views of the seabirds.

I absolutely adore Robins, they never fail to put a smile on my face, and this one certainly achieved that.

The Cormorant is a common bird that can be found throughout the UK, along the coast and at inland lakes. Regardless of their large number I always find that they are a head turner. Their prehistoric looks probably have something to do with this.

This particular one was seen flying from lake to lake at the RSPB run St Aidans nature reserve.
