Roma, handmade by Fabriano in Italy, Muretto (venetian red).

I call Roma the paper of the gods. The Roma watermark-- ancient image of the "she-wolf" suckling the twins Romulus and Remus-- fits this serious paper.

Roma for many artists is the pinnacle of Fabriano's artistry in papermaking. Naturally, each handmade sheet cost a few pretty pennies (and each resulting journal is lip-biting pricy), but I can't forget a paper with that much personality and elegance.

130 gsm heavily laid paper is pliable but steady. Earth tone colors have an understated sumptuousness and personality.

I cannot overemphasize the comfortable decadence of Fabriano's handmade Roma paper.
